Have the cowboys ever admitted to rebuilding or did we as fans assume that rebuilding was taking place? I don't think JJ will ever come out and say that it's time to clean house and start over and we are now rebuilding for fear of losing fans and most importantly $$$. Truth be told they should have been grooming a qb for the last couple years instead of trying to find the "one" missing piece or the "one" player needed to win a sb.

This team needs a total rebuilding especially on the defense. But Jerry's happy with 8-8 because the Cowboys still put on a good show. After Romo retires, the show will be over.

No surprise here.
The league and union would be an uproar if they trotted Romo out there with a fraking heriated disk. That would be irresponsible and flat out dangerous.

Winning this game is not out of the question, folks. 35-40 guys will play on Sunday.
Unlike the last two years, the game is at HOME.
Dallas is 5-2 at home with a combined losing margin of 4 points.
Dallas is undefeated vs NFC East teams. 5-0.
And as we've already pointed out, compared to last year, the offense has an oline, pass blocking, run blocking, and a RUN GAME to go with many weapons.
If (huge if) the defense at home can just keep it from getting out of control....this is doable.

Sure. I don't deal in absolutes.

I'm not buying it. As in not financially supporting Jerry Jones' product.

As in not believing the "we're this close" lines anymore.

Also as in not listening to anyone else trying to make excuses for the continued incompetence and ineptitude.

Fine except I've done neither, so leave those arguments for those doing it.

Man.... got to wait till today when they sell all the tickets to make this announcement, so business-minded.

If you say so. I've seen and clearly read different.

So I'd be leery of insulting someone else's credibility.

I was in favor of giving him a 1-2 yr extension and trying to find his future replacement in the meantime. But Jerry went all in and made him our QB of the present and future. Totally ridiculous deal.

One to two year deal? Maybe a week to week deal would have been better..i dont know why jerry couldnt have done that instead.

Its impressive how little some people know around here.

And I'm sorry if you still buy what these clowns are selling.

Not even a little bit. Never bought into the idea that Romo would play. I just understand why they handled it the way they did.

That window that was closing, well I think it may have closed this season and in order to not go to 5-11 or worse things need to change. I'm so tired of being middle of the road 8-8 and don't understand why the freaking cowboys can be happy with that. Romo having surgery to end this season is horrible news and that's not good for the immediate future of this franchise. Without Romo being allowed to play like himself this franchise is in trouble and if there aren't improvements on the defense this team may only win 5-6 games next year.

I can't believe some of you are saying Jerry shouldn't have paid Romo. Isn't that a little rash?

Who would you like to play QB for us then? Maybe another minor league baseball washout?

i'm on record saying i wanted him to play out the final year of his contract. if we did that and things played out the same way, cowboys are looking at a 10 million dollar discount right now due to the back injury and possibly one less year on the contract.

i wanted them to wait and see how the season played out and then reevaluate the entire franchise and determine if this was the right thing to do. giving your qb 25% of the cap when the rest of the team is broken worries me.

Was out doing some errands when my phone buzzed with a text from NFL news. I knew it wouldn't be good. *sigh*

I just have a problem when folks clearly BS and lie to me. It really makes me mad. I don't excuse it for business purposes or being politically correct either.

I think society has become too accepting of being clearly lied to and deceived.

I figured as much... I'm worried about his back problem because he's almost 34 and those things never end well.

So the only solution was giving him a $100 million long term extension? Yeah, I see what you mean about some knowing so little around here.

That would of actually made sense and it's what Baltimore did with Flaco but this is Jerry we're talking about so...

I can understand that to a point, but I'm not "entitled" to know everything about day to day ops of the cowboys cause I'm a fan.
