I guess this tweet from a few days ago had some truth.

My one sports exclusive of the year. Chace Crawford says Tony Romo has floating fragment near his spine. Risks paralysis by playin.
Tony Romo had surgery like I said he would. Not sure why DFW media decided Jerry Jones had better info than Tony's family.

Anyways, Good luck Kyle!

I can understand that to a point, but I'm not "entitled" to know everything about day to day ops of the cowboys cause I'm a fan.

No, but I would rather they say nothing than to blatantly lie, even for the purposes of game-planning.

And people can try to rally to their favorite team's defense and try to point to maybes and possibles, but word came out pretty quickly about how serious this thing was.

And, again, it's not just this latest issue, we've been lied to plenty of times previously this year.

Pretty heroic on Romo's part last week given the severity of this thing....and this Eagle's game is meaningless without that game-winning drive.

Now it's time for the team to step up at home and win the division!

I just have a problem when folks clearly BS and lie to me. It really makes me mad. I don't excuse it for business purposes or being politically correct either.

I think society has become too accepting of being clearly lied to and deceived.

Understood. Fair points.

Doctor's perspective.

Dr. Johnny Benjamin ‏@DrJCBenjamin15m
Pro athletes often get treated differently than regular patients in medicine. Tony Romo's herniated disc is a perfect example.
Usual treatment for herniated disc: NSAIDs, PT for 4-6 weeks, 3 ESIs then surgery for 5-10% that fail this course of treatment. Tony Romo's herniated disk happened on Sunday then meds, ESI & surgery roughly 4 days later. In pro's surgery is fast tracked. Unfortunately
fast tracked surgery may have been a reasonable option IF he had a chance of playing again this season. No chance either way; So why rush? Unless person is becoming paralyzed or having bowel/bladder issues very rarely consider surgery for disc b4 6-12 wks.
Immediate surgery for a disc herniation is usually in the best interest of the team & performing surgeon; patient/athlete not so much. Romo got cut in 4 days. Romo will likely have 6-12 weeks of therapy then be full speed for conditioning. Next season's no problem if all goes well.

The people asking him the questions are usually lying, misconstruing, and whatever else it takes to create a story with no concern with how it affects others. Maybe you have become too accepting of their dishonesty.

I have no problem with Garrett feeding them crap. They deserve it. I don't feel personally lied to when he does it.

Maybe it's just me, but I wish we had an entire season to see how someone like Orton would have run this offense. I really enjoyed watching Kitna as the Cowboys QB because it never felt like we had a "Superstar" QB under the microscope. It felt like a real team rather than just a bunch of guys thrown together with talent; a "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" type of feeling.

I really appreciate what Tony can do, but it's never really felt like a team with him running things... I really can't describe the feeling, but it's just how I feel.

I remember when he punctured his lung there was concern for him then. I don't want to say life threatening because I don't remember those words being used but it was very serious.

Tony is very tough.

And because I do believe in conspiracies I think this back issue..that cyst..meh I think he's had something going on all year.

Wait. So Romo decided to get season ending surgery because of a risk of paralysis?

You have to question how important football is to him.

I'm going to guess you feel that way because the current state of the Cowboys is Kyle Orton under center and not Tony Romo.

I gotta feeling. Woo hoo. That Sunday night's not going to be a good night.
