That's the guy who can see Pete Rose is a gambling degenerate disgraceful human being who bet on his own team to lose and should never be allowed in the Hall of Fame.

I just said forgive him for his sins. Let him in HOF.

We all make mistakes. Yourself included... Fo shizzle!

Heck, I think he is owed an apology!

Yes we all make mistakes, but not all of us spend years violating the cardinal rule of our place of employment - then spend over a quarter century lying about it.

Ha Ha, the only manipulating that happened was you on yourself and you didnt even realize it. Funny tho, everybody else could see it. Stevie Wonder could have seen it.

C'mon man, seriously, its time to let it go.

Just as I thot . . . . . . .

As far as we know Pete never cheated during his playing career and is the Hit King. An achievement worthy of induction to the HOF. Induct him and put on his plaque that he was banned from baseball for betting on baseball. There would be forgiveness, recognition of his baseball achievements, and acknowledging his sins against the game.

The evidence that Rose bet as a player on his own games was strong before this week, and overwhelming after. It simply cannot be reasonably denied now that we have an actual paper trail to go with the testimony and investigation.

The Pete Rose apologists have to move their bar yet again. "Sure he gambled on his own games as a player, but he's Charlie Hustle and always gave it his all!!!"

So what.

I am not an apologist.
Wasn't really a fan. Before my time.
I have no dog in this race.

Just forgive. His stats are unquestionable. Unblemished. No taint. Suspicion.

It's simply human forgiveness.

Fortunately your opinion is in the minority after this week's revelations, and we won't be seeing him in the Hall.

It doesn't work that way when you break a rule and the punishment is a lifetime ban.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Pete knew what he was getting into.

Yes. I understand that's side of it.

There is a flip to that side though.

Not trying to change anyone's mind. Is what it is.

To forgive is a verb. Saying he should be forgiven and allowed reinstatement is an opinion.

Any other 2nd grade level grammar questions you'd like help with?
After this week's revelation, I doubt that very much.

To err is human; to forgive, divine.

This weeks revelation mean nothing. Everyone knew he was degenerate gambler. No control. Bet on everything.

I would love to be around when you make a big mistake.... Oh wait, been there, don't that. Lol

He has yet to be 100% honest on the subject, thus it's reasonable to assume he is not remorseful

On I get that and agree.

This would be a huge undertaking reinstating him. Letting him in HOF.

He would have a lot to do.

Confess all.
Repent.
Change his ways.
Become advocate for this in some way.

Really just break it down and admit that he was completely wrong.

There are so extenuating issues too... But let's start there.
Owners are and have been mofos since beginning.

At this point, with these revelatons, I think the door is shut. If he admits to everything, and it does not include betting against his team, no one will believe him. If he admits to everything and it includes betting against his own team, then he can not be allowed in.

He only admitted what he did to sell his book, but before that he lied for decades and still lies today. Doesn't make sense to reinstate him after he lied for so long

If Rose would have just admitted to everything back when, he might have been much closer to the HoF at this point in time. After all of those years passed while working on repentant, his image surely would have gotten better.

Bull. Prior to this week there were plenty of people saying he was a degenerate gambler but insisted he never bet on his own games he played in.

What little momentum there was to get him reinstated is out the window.

No you haven't, you just ignorantly think you have. But please show some courtesy to the people who want to talk about Pete Rose by not hijacking this thread into a discussion of another topic.

I disagree. People knew. Believed he did.

I disagree. This changes nothing. He lied about eveything. No revelation here.

I never changed the topic. If you want courtesy then give it back. Making comments about 2nd grade teachings. Etc.

Agreed. If he bet AGAINST team then all bets are off.
