This Oline struggled during Week 1, but that was to be expected since both Tyler Smith and Matt Farniok were forced to start at different positions which they had not practiced at or with the 1st string Offense all training camp and preseason. Granted, they performed much better Week 2 as I said they would since they finally had an extra week to practice together with the 1st string. Can you imagine how much better they would have performed to start the season had Philbin and his assistant(s) made the right move to start both of them at their current positions and with the 1st string Offense since training camp, plus made the 1st string Offense play throughout the preseason games? Do you understand now why I criticize so much, because these numbskulls who have been coaching in the NFL for so long simply can't get it right and make the correct decisions from the beginning. It's always much later after failed attempts and poor decisions that hurt the team that they finally realize what to do correctly. To top it off, now they are looking into shuffling the Oline once again. Why? It's perfect the way it is right now.

But, hey, don't criticize this coaching staff because what does one know, much less is just a JAG fan? Is that right?
I like it when you go to an extreme.
And Game 1?
Struggles are bound to happen.

The OL has performed well and they have had big probs.
Give Philbin his cred.

And learn paragraphs please.
Walls of texts are eye-rolling.

I get what you're saying, AC, but you don't honestly know that they'd be better off if they'd done things your way. It's possible there were extenuating circumstances that forced their hand, or maybe Philbin wanted to try different scenarios, to see what would work best. It's also possible it wasn't Philbin's decision who to play in preseason. He's pretty far down on the totem pole in Dallas's hierarchy, and was probably told to keep the starters out.

Peters is a LT. Too late in the game to change that.

Starting O-line for the first round of the playoffs:

LT Jason Peters
LG Tyler Smith
C Connor McGovern
RG Zack Martin
RT Tyron Smith

That's our best five when Tyron is healthy, although I admit that mcGovern at center would require some work.
:lmao:

I could do paragraphs, but I want to see your eyes roll. It's more fun that way. ;)

BTW, did you not realize the credit I gave Philbin for finally getting it right? I'm just waiting for him to screw it up.

Don't let it get to 3rd down, get the ball moving.
You know the defense will bring it.

Yeah, all this Philbin hate is pretty ridiculous. You can call him a bad HC or even a poor OC. But as an OL coach, he is widely respected. He's dealt with a ton of injuries - in 33 games here, he didn't have Tyron for 20, Collins for 23, and Martin for six. That's a ton to deal with.

All possibly true, Runny, but all of that in itself is a problem. This stuff with the Oline and WRs should have been ironed out weeks ago.

There's a potential LT advantage because Peters is about ready to play and Tyron Smith may come back later. So you plan on using one of those two. Or both. Oh darn, I have 2 future HOF LTs
Then I'd keep Tyler Smith at LG for this season.
We know he can play LT if needed. Get the absolute best 5 out there.

Where else can Peters play at a high level?

It probably seemed like it was, in practice, against our own guys. I seem to remember how so many receivers were torching the DBs in camp.

No because my eyes were rolling too much from your wall of text.
Savvy?
Your wall of abc's made me not want to read what you typed.
Blame yourself.
