I highly doubt there'd be a lecture posted by a mod about board etiquette had the title read "Bledsoe Sucks", "Nguyen Sucks", or "Glover sucks.

Pettiti's not the only problem though. Half the guys on the line, the vets, aren't holding up their end of the bargain either.

At least Pettiti is a rookie, Allen and Rivera have no excuse for their poor play. They're supposed to be Pro Bowlers.
When they post on the forum, they aren't Mods. He's a poster with an opinion. Modersating is done in private via PM. He wasn't acting as a Mod. He was posting as a member concerned about someone's feelings.

There are harsh things said about players all the time. Pittdawg handles it well and has better info than most. Posters can see a play or there and judge an entire season. Hell, we have posters who judge an entire career on a play here or there.

One of our top posters ever has basically grown tired of the abuse from other posters and rarely posts any more. Maybe, just maybe the members here who miss that info and recognize what Pittdawg brings to this forum. For instance this forum knew about the death of Parcells' brother 6 to 8 hours before any media outlet was reporting it. Other Cowboys forums had to get their news from here.

That's the way some of us want it.

Interesting....so when I post my feelings on the subject, it's a "lecture"

Newsflash: I'd have posted the same exact feelings if I wasn't a moderator.

And yes, your right, I wouldn't have posted about same if the thread was "Nguyen sucks"...that's what I wrote in my "lecture"

I'm entitled to an opinion, just as everyone else is.

My feeling is, I would never post that a member's kid sucks and is a loser...regardless if he is an NFL player or not.

Great post. 11 games in with numbers like that, I can't complain.

Especially from a 6th round rook.

However, when Flo and Ratliff went down, I knew Dallas was going to struggle on their respective side of their lines.

Petitti's struggles are well noted in this thread (with various tones). Ever notice though that Dallas is not getting quite the amount of sacks since Ratliff went down? Hey, I haven't heard Pepper's name mentioned all season.

Exactly right.

I think the kids done darned well given the circumstances and I would expect the improvement he shows between this year and next will be very noticeable.

ugh...but this comes from the guy who believes Torrin Tucker is an upgrade over Flozell Adams :D

seriously, I think Petitti will be fine in the future, but I think they need to get a more proven OL coach in here next yr

Sorry I didn't read this soon enough to do my teacher routine. Instead I would like to make this comment. I read the game thread on this board and also on another one. I know Rob made some errors in the game yesterday but many who write in are very fickle. One moment you are praising the accomplishments of your team and the very next play "they stink" etc. Obviously, for a team to play Denver neck and neck THROUGHOUT the game, they must be decent at the very least. No one player wins or loses the game despite the tendency to place blame on someone who made a bad play, missed a kick, dropped a pass and so on. Winning is a team effort and our team played well. The game was actually lost with one play -- Ron Dayne getting though our line and running for 50+ yards. Was that any one player's fault? No! Our opponents are trying to out play us while we are trying to stop them and vice versa. That results in someone winning and someone losing. Criticism should be made to get every player to improve his skills, his efforts, and his execution during the game not to destroy his dreams. Some of you should trying teaching -- you may find out how truly difficult it is to help a young mind/body/talent develop. Rob's aunt/Pittdawg's sister

I have always been from the stance that to say a player sucks or this or that is just plain ol stoopid. If this isn't something you would say to a person's face, please don't get over swollen internet-nads and post it on a message board.

The young man has gone out there and busted his arse for the team, hurt quite often. If you cannot respect him enough for what he is doing for us (heads up against some of the best, injured, rookie, etc etc) it may be time to move down the road to another team that has a fan base just like that... the raiders and eagles probably have some room on their bandwagons now.

That was not the response I was expecting. Good stuff!

Once Rob took over for Rogers, it took me a few days to get that double T at the end down pat. ;)

1. Quit with the "He's only a 6th round rookie" BS. Tucker was undrafted and he didn't get cut ANY slack. Petitti deserves to have no slack cut either.

2. I'm not asking the guy to come out and play like an all pro. Just play AVERAGE. That's all I ask. And news flash, "Only 4 holding calls, 4 false starts, and 5 or 6 sacks" is NOT good. By the way, he's had MORe holding calls that weren't accepted. NOT TO MENTION THE PLAYS HE JUST LETS HIS MAN GO CUZ OF MENTAL ERRORS.

3. I appreciate the mods leaving the thread here. In that "other" forum the dictator...I mean mods would of deleted it.

4. That said, there was an enormous amount of butt kissing in this thread. Pittdawg is a grown man. He knows his son is playing poorly. No need to kiss his butt or sugar coat anything. We're talking football here, not ballet.

5.

Speaking of Ratliff, he was a 6th round pick and was playing GOOD. Why can't I at least ask Petitti to play AVERAGE?

6. For whoever said I'm frustrated with the loss, sorry but that's not true. I was actually happy we hung with the Broncos and had a chance to win. I predicted they'd lose by like 14 points so losing by 3 in OT is good as far as I'm concerned. I don't beat around the bush. If I were upset about the loss I would of made a thread outlining why I was upset about the loss. The thread was made for what I AM upset about, which is Rob Petitti's play on the field. And it's not just cuz of this game, it's cuz of his past 2, 3, or 4 games. With Flo being out he's getting exposed more cuz we can't protect his as often, and he's failing big time. He's getting beat physically, but mostly mentally. He needs to pick his game up, PERIOD. I don't care what round he or anyone else was drafted in, there's no excuse for mental errors.

You know, guys... Although Parcells obviously wants to win every single game, IMO he is building this team for next year. Do you think he really expects to win the Super Bowl this year with so many rookies and a brand new defensive scheme? He and Jeff Ireland have mentioned several times how much better the rookies will be next year. And if you remember, when Rogers got hurt again and it was obvious Parcells was giving up on him, rather than going out and getting a stopgap vet who would have been better in the short term, he pretty much made Rob the man right away. Why do you think he decided to do that?

Point being, Rob is a rookie, and all rookies have tough times. Parcells knows this as well as anyone, yet he went with him anyway. I personally suspect that losing all that weight so quickly was tough, and that Rob will be a completely different player after a full offseason of lifting and conditioning -- not to mention experience -- next year.

Soon, Rob's entire family tree is gonna pop up here to tell it like it is.

My opinion... he's making a true effort at a tough transition and I applaud him for it.
I think he has a great career as a solid backup but is a liability in a starting position, as of now. We need a dominant RT for a change.

I stopped reading right there. Obviously you have a problem interpreting basic english. I never said the team stunk. Read my last post, I wasn't even upset with the loss.

And for the guy who said "Make up your mind, one minute you like Petitti the next you don't", well I've never EVER praised Petitti cuz there's been nothing worth praising. Don't group me in that category if I don't belong in that category.

But I agree that I think he has a great career as a solid backup but could be a liability in a starting position. We need a dominant RT for a change.

A Dominant RT would be nice, but I don't think we "need" one. I just want a solid player that doesn't make mental mistakes.

On the right side we have a guy making mental mistakes, on the left side there's no mental mistakes but he's getting manhandled. Either way, it's not good for Bledsoe, our offense, or our chances in the playoffs.

I think you missed the whole thing. The point is, don't talk about someone's son/loved one relative using that type of rhetoric, especially when you KNOW they will most likely see it here. I have enjoyed reading several of your posts/threads through my time here but you crossed a line here bro. That is what point is trying to be made to you I believe. If someone said that type of stuff to you about your kiddo how would you like it? I don't care the context, but if someone called your kid a loser and said he sucks, would you be happy about that? I know I would not...
