Could have, yes. But there's hundreds of posters here that "Could have" criticized QUincy Carter "differently" too a few years ago, but I didn't see you complaing back then.

Just an example. And at least I didn't criticize Rob's tongue, or skin color, or speech impediment, or his intelligence, etc...

Rack, you obviously lack something that is called TACT. Pick up a dictionary, read about it. Your coming off as a internet hot head, I seriously doubt you would say something like this to someones face, but since you can remain hidden, you "tell it like it is".

Really you need to put things in perspective, Petitti was brought in as a LT, not a RT. It turns out he was our best option at RT, so we have to go with that. Honestly he has played a hell of a lot better than I thought he would. The man is dedicated to the game and to the team. I expect to see a huge improvement from this year to the next. A full off season will do wonders for him, trust me on this. Think about it Rack, how many 1st round picks are busts or don't see much playing time in the NFL? Hell the skins have a top ten pick sitting on the bench. You say he is playing poorly, I would agree that he is not playing Great, I would consider him average. Seriously guy, there are a lot of RT that are doing a whole lot worse.

last word from me on this subject.

i think rob has played well, not mistake free, but well. also, if you think he's played poorly the last 4 games, i think you have been watching the houston texans not the cowboys. he struggled against seattle, but played well against ariz., phil., lions. i don't mind criticism, but when you base your views on misinformation than i think you might have another adjenda you're trying to voice.

Exactly.

The problem is many people expected this team to go from a team with one winning season over the last many to a Super Bowl contender overnight...

Well folks it ain't that easy. This is a work in progress. Personally I would take a winning record as a sign this team is moving in the right direction. Youngsters like Rob, MBIII, Canty, Spears, Burnett and a host of others will get better.

No one said that "2005" was going to be the year, but I've seen enough already to think that "2006" will.

It's agenda, Bob. Sorry, Sis.....

What agenda would I possibly have in criticizing Rob's play?

What, did I secretly want Jacob "the pansy" Rogers to win the job? I dang near destroyed my den when we drafted that pansy.

So that's not it.

What could my agenda be?

By the way, I've also criticized the inconsistency of Al Johnson, but hate the idea of Andre Gurode starting. Is there an agenda there too?

My only "Agenda" is the Dallas Cowboys. I'm guily, I admit it.

Seriously though, please let me know what my "Agenda" is cuz I haven't the slightest clue what that might be.

Try me.

If anything I'm nicer here then in person. But go ahead and make your accusations while you "hide" behind your keyboard.

Are you grouping me in that category?

I like you too when you aren't spin doctoring my posts and/or grouping me in categories that I don't belong in.

I never said I "expected" 2005 to be the year. I think you're taking a simple post and blowing it out of proportion. I'd like more consistency from Rob Petitti. Even if we lost our last 5 games, I'd still want more consistency from Rob Petitti (and the rest of the team for that matter).

I think Rack is right on this one. I don't think anyone can say - with any subjectivity - that Pettiti is doing "well" or even ok. Frankly, I don't think you can say that about any other OL either. That goes for yesterday and most every other game this season. I'm not sure by what standard anyone could say "he's doing ok for a 6th rounder". Clearly, he's not, and neither are his linemates. If your aim for a rookie 6th rounder is for him to occupy a roster spot, then he's doing ok. But since he's on the field, I expect more from him.

With better backs and supposedly better OL, our running game isn't significantly different from what it was when Troy Hambrick was the RB. That's pretty sad.

IMO, the team has won in spite of the offensive line. There's plenty of blame to go around for yesterday's loss: Bledsoe, Parcells, Cundiff, etc. But, I think the OL is by far the biggest weakness of the team. I think we need 2 new starters next year, assuming Flozell is back healthy.

Personally, I'm getting sick of hearing how Rivera is "helping" Pettiti. Who's helping Rivera? Whoever it is, they aren't doing their job.....I don't care what anyone says, Rivera got a huge signing bonus, and he hasn't justified it with his play. We're not significantly better off with him at RG than we were with Gurode.

I appreciate the Pettitis posting here and hope they continue to, but if they went to virtually any other Cowboys' internet board, it would be worse. Much worse.

Even Allen is showing his age, we use to be able to count on him opening up at least one monster hole all by himself. When was the last time you saw him blow his man off the ball and a RB jotting behind him for a 10 or 20 yard run? He and Rivera have been decent but neither is the stud they use to be and are both clearly average at best. I do think Pettiti and Tucker have potential but unless they come of age and the line really starts to take control of the LOS in the next few weeks this team will make an early exit from the playoffs. If some how they are able to put it together this offense will be virtually unstoppable.

Both of the tackles are holding back the offense. Jerry on with Norm Hitzges today when talking about the offensive struggles said point blank that the Cowboys have to get better play out of both of their young offensive tackles. It has to be tough for an offense to compensate for having a LT and a RT who are below average players. That's not to say Tucker and Petitti won't turn out to be good players, but right now, they are not, which isn't surprising considering Petitti is a rookie 6th round pick and Tucker is playing LT for the first time as a pro. Our defense is good enough to play with anybody, but the offense is too inconsistent and will probably remain so with the problem areas that they have.

Marco Rivera has regressed from his Packer days. And yes, Rivera had a bad day as well. That whiff on third down was inexcusable! Just looked like he didn't even try.

He does suck.

I don't get what the big deal is. I don't remember anyone running to take up for the feelings of Quincy's family when we were all screaming for his head.

Random thoughts

(1) Suck is a rather strong word. The guy has not been that bad.
(2) If my son were on the team...there is no way I would visit an open forum of Dallas Fans (At least not after a loss) :D

(3) Pettiti is a rookie who was selected on the 2nd day.

knowing fullwell he's got family members reading this board.

I guess I don't get what the big deal is here.

Should JJT or Mickey or other writers not criticize players because they have family that might be reading? \

i will. i really enjoy reading this board because i love the passion and knowledge of the cowboy fans. that said, i'd like to point out that rob has only 2 holding and 4 false start penalties, 5 or 6 sacks, has played opposite many of the best d-ends in the nfl, played through numerous injuries including a concussion and a high ankle sprain incurred against detroit all the while not missing a single snap from scrimmage. his play has been steady and has worked extremely hard to bring his game up to the nfl level. i believe he has done very well, but i'm only his father and what would anyone expect me to think.

They say a player makes his biggest leap between Year 1 and 2. I really believe the experience he's obtained this season in terms of reps, as well as the experience of playing through injury, is going to pay huge dividends for him next season.

Not a Problem, I will. Come to DC when the cowboys play the slurs and I will get tickets to the game for us. You can tell Rob to his face that he sucks (I don't mean yelling from the stands, but face to face) While I watch. :D

Look Rack, I everyone is entitled to their opinion, mine differes from yours on this matter, but there are often better ways to get your point across without sounding like a idiot.
