Peyton takes 4 million pay cut. Romo should do same.

Hater alert!
Lol

Seriously though, obviously nobody has ever once said that...not once.

Maybe not in so many words but most here would do away with 2 of the New Triplets before asking Romo to take a pay cut..

Peyton has made the most money of any NFL player ever.

Over 230m in salary and he has earned every penny.

He is giving up this 4m to make Elway feel important. He can earn it back if they win the Super Bowl.

I bet papa johns pays him that already

Peyton is a genius. He got Papa Johns to pay him in Franchises in CO right before they legalize pot.

I heard he has dozens of franchises in the Denver area.

I bet if you guarantee Romo a SB next year he'll give up his entire year salary.....so will Witten.

I don't disagree. The point is, Peyton giving up $4 million isn't comparable to Romo doing the same because 1) he has much more money relatively speaking and doesn't "need" it 2) he'll earn it back quickly in other ways.

Sorry I was trying to re-enforce your post. Manning didn't do it out of charity or to help the team. It was to get Elway off his back.

There is no way Romo should do anything besides restructure like was planned since the day he signed the deal.

Peyton is taking a 4 million pay cut to help the Broncos free up cap space. Time for Romo to do the same. Romo salary will be 17 million this year. If Peyton can take a 4 million pay cut from his salary Romo can do the same. No its not a restructure that pushes money down the road, it's a straight pay cut. Come on Romo free up some cap space to help resign Dez, Murray and others.

No he shouldn't. He's not 39 coming off a faded out year where he lost his arm.

21 to be exact. And a permanent spot in more bad future commercials.

They would have to pay me in franchises 2 if I had to eat that horrible pizza for commercials. On a side note, the PJ commercials arent half as bad as that nationwide commercial he sings in

Nobody, IMO, should expect Romo to take a pay cut. It was the organizations decision to pay Romo what we are paying him and that is his money. Now, I was not in favor of paying him that amount but it's done and gone. Now we have to live with those decisions. If he elects to take a pay cut, that's his choice but nobody should expect him or demand he does. That's not how it works.

Do you still think it was a mistake to pay him that money? Based on performance, and what other top QBs get paid, he is clearly not overpaid. That contract was totally fair and has been money well spent. The top rated QB in the NFL last season. The 2nd highest rated QB in NFL history and he has yet to have a season when his QB rating was less than 90. Now when you look at Carr's contract, then you shake your head.

Tony Romo was a significantly better quarterback than Peyton Manning last year and is four years younger. He should be making more money than Manning.

Nobody is better than Peyton Manning. Eli Manning, yes. Payton, no.

It isn't 2003 anymore. Brady has been better than Manning for a while now, and a lot of QBs are better than Peyton currently now that his body has failed him.

I don't think his body is failing him - I think he was mentally broken by the Seahawks and Belichick has always seemed to be inside his head.

He continues to lift and study film fiendishly and harder than anyone else at his position.
