PFT.com: Irvin in over Monk sends bad message

skinsngibbs4life;1356089 said:
problem is, no one is going to come out and talk about how much he deserves it because Monk himself wont come out and complain. Irvin, on the other hand, came out and cried like a little girl last year when he didnt get in.

no one has given a damn about monk getting in the past, why would they all of a sudden start now?

Kinda like you are doing now?

Well, if no one gives a dang, why should we?

So none of you trolls can answer BigDFans stats?

:laugh2: pathetic

He did?

I don't recall him complaining once, please give the exact example of him crying like a little girl you have.......much like giving us one or two plays that defines Art Monks career, you can't do it.

In fact the two years Irvin did not get in, the first he made the final 6 and was on the set the next day congratulating Steve Young as he worked next to him and showed a lot of class.......last year he was cut after the final 10, he gathered himself and sat there in support of his teammate Troy Aikman who did get in.........again please explain when Irvin cried like a little girl.

Nothing will change their minds.

In their opinions, Irvin was the greatest receiver to ever step foot on the football field. What a joke just the HOF voters.

ya know, while you blindly blither about - realize some cowboy fans to agree and think that monk does deserve to be in there. *we* in here didn't do the voting so getting upset at us won't help you any.

i'm happy irvin got it. he deserved it. but it's got nothing to do with monk - who deserves it also. he'll get there.

They can't and all they will do is beat their chest and cry like their HOF coach who send video tapes to the NFL every week when they lose. That organization is filled with whinners and cry babies and it comes down from the top.

Danny boy

coach Gibbs

the fans

right on down.

I don't know why Skins fans are obsessing over Irvin. I'm sympathetic to Monk's candidacy, but he failed to gain induction during years when he had no competition of note from other retired receivers. So Irvin is a classic "straw man" in this whole debate.

This is what you reply to????

:lmao2:

Man, this proves our points.

We also have a HOF caoch.

Probably 3 by the time it's all said and done.

How many did you have btw?

Oh yeah, the cry baby.

How sad.

Superbowl Comparisons............

In three Superbowl games played by each WR:

Monk: 9 receptions for 179 yards with no TDS, best Superbowl (SB XXVI 7 reception for 113 yards) meaning he had one catch per Superbowl in the other two.

Irvin: 16 receptions for 256 yards and 2 TDS. (Best Superbowl SB XXVII 6 receptions for 114 yards and two TDS)

didn't monk play 4 more years? if irvin played 4 more years and they both had 16 to compare to - play out nothing more than irvins averages and go ahead and reduce it 15% a year for the heck of it.

now who leads what?

the hall of fame is about a players CAREER is it not? not about what could have been if they played 4 more years?

I really doubt it.

Also, when you have to win your Super Bowls in strike years it kind tarnishes the trophy a bit.

:lmao2:

You need to win them like everyone else.

No need for what ifs all I have to do is use facts

I bet you ignore this post again

The fact that when taken in context of how many games they played Irvin was statistically dominant

Irvin led his team in receving yards 7 times
Monk 4 times

Irvin made the pro bowl 5 times
Monk 3 times

Irvin was top 10 in yards in the NFL 6 times
Monk 3 times

Irvin was top 10 in receving TDs in the NFL 5 times
Monk 1 time

Irvin was top 10 in yards from scrimmage 4 times
Monk never was

Both monk and Irvin finished top 10 in recptions 4 times

Monk averaged 56.8 yards per game
Irvin averaged 74.87 ypg

Monk averaged .30 TDs per game
Irvin averaged .41 TDs per game

Irvin had 7 seasons with over 1000 yards
Monk had 5

Irvin had 4.72 receptions per game
Monk averaged 4.2 rpg
