i think in the end it wont matter I think he will still be suspended for six games
As do I, court cases vs. the NFL generally don't end well for the other side. They have too much authority, authority that was agreed upon by all sides; players, owners, executives, etc...

Just because she's crazy, doesn't mean he didn't put his hands on her. It's essentially the same thing as the Greg Hardy case.
But Hardy apparently didn't have clear documentation of his ex threatening to ruin his career if they broke up.

the only shot Zeke has in court is if he can show the NFL violated federal law. No CBA can protect them from that. Whether he can or not is the question.

Agreed, but where could he do that with this case? I'm just not seeing any room for him to fight it. Now, if he sues her and wins, this will get really interesting, but it'll be too late.

Well she there is evidence that she wanted to ruin his career. There was also a statement by her that she was a "white women and Im a black man".

So those might help him sway public opinion on his side.

As someone said this could get very ugly.

This is going to be an important case for the players IMO because the league is flexing its muscle on being able to serve as judge, jury and executioner.

Just makes you wonder what good it will do though.

A best case is that Goodell bows to growing public sentiment that he reduces the suspension while keeping the stance they were tough.

Then you wonder if Elliott's team will just take that and have him serve.

If this goes the Brady route and they dig in for a long fight, the more precarious it becomes.

I know I don't want him shut down the last few weeks of the season and/or playoffs.

This either hits now or they should probably let it rest given the risk.

Hopefully it drags throughout the entire 2017 season so if ultimately suspended after all proceedings, we can take the hit at the start of the 2018 season.

I really have a problem with his DAD being his mouthpiece. Maybe it's just the way youngster are raised in this day and age...but when I got out of college...and was on my own..I....ME....spoke for ME!!!!! Does not mean my parents didn't "brag" on me or weren't "proud" of me. But I can't imagine my dad having ANYTHING to say to my employer or co-workers if he did not agree with something that was said to me or about me in my annual evaluation at work.

Reminds me of the RG3 era in DC...and his Dad was in the lockeroom and tossing the football with his son on the practice field. You status at a "leader" would be in question if your dad seemed to act like a buffer between you are the rest of the team/society!

Nothing wrong with a Dad speaking up for a son. In fact, I admire him.

yes it is called equal opportunity.
they cannot punish white man and black man differently.
especially when the white man admitted DV while Zeke's accuser has been proven as a liar.

he should not sue her - women groups will fund her lawsuit.

he should go after the NFL on equal opportunity with EEOC.

In a case that lacks any evidence other than words of 2 people then her being crazy absolutely matters.
Everything I have seen and read on this case sounds like everyone acknowledges that she lies to police and investigators and yet they take her word as enough to tarnish Zeke's reputation and hurt his career earnings potential.
While its true that her being crazy doesn't mean he didn't hit her....its also true that her being crazy means you better have much more than her word to justify harming someone and labeling someone a woman beater.

even if it is judge, jury and executioner, nfl cannot violate equal opportunity.
i am absolutely sure nfl has equal opportunity in its bylaws and charter etc.

Speaking up for him....is different than speaking for him. What has Zeke....the ACCUSED...the employee of the Dallas Cowboys...what has HE said?

Well getting his family involved in this might be a good thing. When people see Zeke they think women beater. When a Dad and Mom speaks, they thinking they are fighting for the injustice brought upon their son.
