PFT: High-level source says NFL believes Vick is guilty

I officially dub this the "Michael Vick message board." I know it's May and many of us are bored, but that can't account for all of it.

Most of the times we disagree and argue about things. But there are times we agree 100% and this is one of them.

I don't know about you but agreeing like this makes me feel dirty somehow.:laugh2:

I am wore out with the vick dog fighting threads. But like an idiot I keep clicking and going into them. So shame on those for doing more of the threads but even more shame on us that don't like them but keep going into them.

It is getting this attention because he is a very big name in pro football. Add to that people's love for animals and you have many people including those who are not into football who are keeping an eye on this. This is going to kill him as far as endorsments are concerned.

True, but there is a "new thread" button in the NFL Zone.

True but chances are until some new and exciting Cowboy stories come along people will continue to concentrate on what is taking place around the league and the Vick story right now is big. It will get better. :laugh2:

His two fingered salute to the Georgia Dome fans probably took care of that already.

To some extent your right now add animal cruelty to the list in this country and no one will want him endorsing their product.

The idea that his reputation and career are in the toilet is pretty comical if you ask me. Ray Lewis can gain his back after being directly involved with the killing of another human being and many come back from drug issues and many other things and his career and reputation are down the toilet because of dog fighting.

I seriously doubt it. It is pretty dispicable and inhumane but it does not compare to other things being done by NFL players if you ask me. Driving under the influence, endangering peoples lives is much worse IMO.

It is illegal and very well should be but saying that he should not be allowed to ever play again while Ray Lewis is still in the NFL is ludicrous if you ask me. There are not many choir boys in the NFL and while many things are illegal, as well they should be, I would say cheating on your wife would be more dispictable than dog fighting but it is not illegal.

I agree with you about Lewis but then again I did not see a US senator coming down on Lewis but I have seen comment regarding Vick. Once you get an organization like these animal activist groups after you they will continue to apply the pressure and in this country where people hold their family pets in high regards Vick is not going to get a lot of sympathy

The turd has been a very good source for this story -- they've made it their raison d’être over the last month or so

This sounds funny to say, but has anyone noticed that the Turd seems to be trying to clean up its act lately? Maybe it's my imagination, but they seem to actually be trying to sound a little less sophomoric and a little more credible lately.

Maybe some of the recent publicity from ESPN made them take a look at themselves and realize how stupid they'd been sounding.

It has to do with timing, Goodell is breaking down hard on discipline and you got PETA up in arms, I agree many others have done far worse but... life is not exactly fair and Vick was getting the overhyped/bust lable, add all this up and he is FUBAR.

Everyone's anonymous friend and high level secret source is coming out of the woodwork to make statements. Something about this makes me feel that Vick isn't going to get any prison time and will probably be acquitted IF charges are brought.

Vick and Pacman have no one but themselves to blame. Nobody put a gun in their face and forced them into repeated stupidity.

All I have to say is that if Goodell gives him anywhere close to the suspension that Pacman got it shows a lot of why this country is out of whack. The comparison is not even close. One guy has his livelihood taken from him and Pacman was involved in it and the other was involved in Dog Fighting. It should not be even close, and, by the way, I love my dogs, but to even start to give them value close to a human life is absurd.

And I am sure that PETA would disagree with me.

Each of us has a separate sense of morality. I, for one, can think of few things that are worse than torturing animals. A person that would do that for whatever gratification, would be more likely to torture a human.

Adultery is contrary to God's Commandments. Dog fighting is not. However, I am fairly certain that God frowns on upon abusing animals for one's own amusement.

Maybe that Vick is going to lose everything he has, as part of God's judgement of him.

Now, I would like to believe that, but the truth is Ringo, I am the evil man and you are the weak. . . . .

adultery vs torturing animals. really good comparison there.

If you don't mind my asking, what breed of dogs do you have?

I don't think anyone is arguing that human life is on equal par with animal life.

There is clearly a difference between the two.
