News: PFT: Mike McCarthy didn't think he'd win a challenge when officials spotted CeeDee Lamb short

You want them to review the spot on every play? Every potential first down? Every potential controversial play? They ain't reducing the commercials that pay the bills.

Not every play, but there are a few spots every game that are close. I see no problem with making sure the spots are correct. There was no reason the NY guys couldn't have reviewed that spot last night. It was clear from the original view of the play that is was close and probably a first down. I think when 1 refs calls it a first and another ref overrules the first ref, it might be a good idea to take a second look.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to fire the guy. He needs to at the very least get a new instant replay guy in the booth to tell him when to challenge. The current person is an idiot.
Give MM a break his blood sugar was down and he could not process quickly. By the time that play occurred it had been several hours since he engulfed multiple cheeseburgers.

Not sure if this was mentioned but throw the flag. It was a good idea to stop play and make sure you have a good 4th down call. Time out was a good thing at that point. Just stupid on mm part

People flat out missing the issue here. It wasn't that MM didn't challenge after watching the replay. It's that he didn't even wait to SEE the replay,
That's actually the part I understand. The hurry up call was made in advance, and the team was running the play. What I don't understand is why nobody yelled, "Hey coach, that was a bad spot!"

My question is how vocal was Lamb that he stretched for the first down before his knee was down. The guy with the ball should be the number one person yelling the loudest to convince the head coach to throw a challenge flag.

Decades in high ticket $100k plus sales taught me one thing...

The worst thing they can say is no. It's even worse not to ask.

Exactly. Maybe he saw the official who called it a first down, and never realized it was overruled?

An official actually signaled first down? I didn't see that. I thought they were only talking about where the Line Judges were walking to think about where they were going to spot it.

McCarthy and the refs are clueless morons. The refs today cannot spot balls properly or call illegal procedure properly. The errors were egregious.

If only he felt that way about the Dez no-catch in Green Bay way back when.

What a totally pathetic call by blind refs who can’t do their simple job

Refs cost us the game , they were horrible

I could be mistaken, but I thought the official on the near side signalled first down, then got overruled by the guy on the other side of the field.

It was a horrible spot and should've been challenged.
As obvious as the nose on my face. McCarthy is a moron. And there is an nfl bias on spotting calls. If the receiver was wearing green the ball stays where it landed, if they wear blue and silver, put it back a yard.

terrible mistake by MM that may have changed the momentum a bit. That said, we weren't winning that game last night. We will get revenge later in the year when Dak beats them.

So you thought it wasn't a first when you saw it? Whoever is in the booth can see what we are seeing. Every fan I've seen knew it needed to be challenged as soon as the chick pulled it back.
Clear bias in the nfl to respot the ball back regardless if blue and silver. It happens over and over and over.

The problem is giving both sides only two challenges. The guys in New York who are supposed to review plays to get them right should review spotting the ball too. It should not be about coaches making the right decisions when to challenge or using up their only 2 challenges, it should be about getting the calls right. If the NFL is worried about the length of games then they should show it be reducing the number and length of commercial breaks.

Did McCarthy use any of his challenges last night?
