So then how did the other guys in the vehicle not get charged then?

Wait and see. My assumption would be if they're refusing to charge Joseph because he's not the trigger man it would be a bad idea to go after others in the same position.

They charged two people. Keep the mental gymnastics and wishcasting coming.

And what are they going to be charged with?

If you think any competent lawyer couldn't make a case out of Joseph getting leniency for not pulling the trigger if his client had also not pulled the trigger, then you should re-adjust your self perception. "Mental gymnastics." Please.

Hell, if it's merely Joseph's testimony and he doesn't face charges that's going to be a sticky subject at the trials which I'd expect a competent lawyer to attack.

"The state's evidence against my client is based on the word of an individual who didn't come forward until he was publicly identified. Not only that, but he has been given immunity. This man is a privileged member of society, etc."

You have no idea who said what yet here you are making all kinds of ish as to who said what. yeah mental gymnastics.

Again, the deal was over failure to report not immunity relating to the murder.

Anywho, you keep hoping for more charges. Hold your breath even.

Again, I won't be holding my breath. But keep inferring my motivations. Glad you're keeping an eye on me. Makes me feel special.

why do you think I said wishcasting in the first place? We all know what you wish to wait and see.

Why? Because you have some weird fascination with what motivates me. Like I said, ad hominem. You don't like what I say so you attempt to discredit me on a personal level.

You never told me your spooky stories. I'm a little disappointed.

I mean, you went to bat for a guy spouting nonsense about, "wars for oil," and thought he was making valid points because he used some back of the class, chit posting, Howard Stern, in-joke. You're so desperate to try to get under my skin you sided with the guy who said KJ and his crew were just standing up for themselves.

It's a free country, write what you want.

I am not interested in ham's supposition because the only considered outcomes are the worst possible outcomes. It borders on wishcasting.

And sure the DA went out of his way to reassert his right to press new charges and he can at any point. I'm not sure what new evidence or witness could be found but anything is possible.

The DA didn't need to make a deal. They had leverage because of the failure to report statute. If he hadn't cooperated they had a felony over his head. If one of the other witnesses had made them think he was an accessory or the shooter he wouldn't get a pass.
The DA didn't need to make a deal, no. But I imagine it's possible that he wanted to get the men who actually did the shooting, and KJ had that information. Circumstances certainly point toward his giving the DA that information, but whether voluntarily or in exchange for immunity, we don't know yet.

KJ has the money and connections to afford the best lawyers, which I doubt is true of the others, so it's also possible they struck a deal between themselves. I'm not saying they did, but there's much we don't know.

I'm hoping KJ turns out to just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and is absolutely innocent, but it doesn't look good.

I would guess that Joseph didn’t go to the police station and talk to the police without his lawyer present. Anything he said to them or told them would have been with the go ahead from his attorney.

If that’s not the case, Joseph is dumber than I thought. Which is saying a lot because I already didn’t think he was the brightest bulb in the box.

Not saying don’t pay him. This isn’t about money, pay him his contract, just have him to train externally.
Missing valuable training hurts his career development and the team. If he’s charged with something that’s reasonable but punishment without any due process is contrary to what this country is about and exactly what they did to Zeke which most everyone thinks was wrong

Instead, they'll just fine him for the amount they would've withheld, if they could have...If they decide to take any action at all.
They may
But if he’s never charged with anything then the only thing they really can find him for is being in a fight
I get the league try’s to protect its image but I think in many cases they over step regulating the life of players while ignoring the lives of owners
The owner in Miami is accused in court filings of attempting to fix games, which is a federal crime and he’s not suspended without pay and won’t be fined
The league needs to look in the mirror

QUOTE="conner01, post: 11894513, member: 2247"]I’d be willing to get if he is suspended it’s no more than one game unless other info comes out and the suspension would be about being involved in the fight
Zeke got a raw deal and I think the league knows it was a raw deal and off field suspension aren’t as common as just a few years ago unless they involve domestic violence
Lewis got nothing and it was a different time but a somewhat similar incident
The biggest issue for him isn’t a suspension, it’s making better decisions of who you hang out with. Obviously he needs new friends or he will end up out of football and broke[/QUOTE]
Well, looks like two of his friends will be out of circulation for awhile.

And you could be correct or he gets nothing because the NFLPA could bring up the Ray Lewis situation and there were definitely questions about his level of involvement and since he skated being charged, he escaped suspension.

But, I keep coming back to Elliott, they refused to charge him yet he caught 6 games, brought on in part by his stupid behavior at a parade, so the league office can do what they want. And I am assuming they have a large majority of people that favor discipline with Joseph. Including most of those owners.

You are making quite an assumption that the Dallas DA considers him a suspect of anything.

The standards they are held to contractually regard felony convictions. He has not even been charged.
He cut a deal not to be charged and he had little choice in the matter since his lawyer had already admitted he was in the vehicle.

One of the most interesting parts of this is the expediency of this lawyer after the video surfaces and Joseph is identified. Before I could tell is that really him, the lawyer was already out there with statement, Joseph cut his deal and the two shooters turn themselves in. This all happened really fast considering it had been an open investigation for a month.

So, do you think Joseph retained this lawyer before his name even popped up to be ready when that other shoe dropped. I can only assume the things going through his head once the shock of the shooting, giving him the complete benefit of the doubt here, had worn off and he backtracked to everywhere he'd been with these two guys and what surveillance was around at those locations. Did he think 'it is just a matter of time' so he'd better get prepared or did he retain that lawyer when he knew he was being identified. And who helped him find that lawyer?

His agent probably recognized him and got in touch with him and a lawyer.

The first person to speak out about this was his lawyer when he admitted he was in the car but not a shooter. Joseph hasn't done anything without guidance from his lawyer and has kept a low profile and nose to the grindstone with his job.

I would be surprised if he is charged with anything because the two turned themselves in without incident, after he cooperated, and as far as we know, no further implication of Joseph in the shooting.
