There's a weak rumor going around that they might have been able to use the two way radios to hear Cowboys play calls. I don't give it much credence, but it's interesting to talk about.

I don't believe the Giants went so far as to listen to our calls, especially when they were using the walkies in plain view on the sideline. BUT I did think it was weird how Sturm said it was as if Janoris knew every route Dez was running. Someone in Reddit also posted a play fake to Witten that absolutely no one on defense bit, not even for a split second.

That's probably because it was a play fake to Witten.

He's not beating anyone deep and has the agility of a road cone with the ball in hands. Love the guy but nobody is selling out on guarding him.

Said it in the game thread but I have no idea how there are ever communication issues any more. Particularly with the frequency at which they seem to occur.

Surprised Motorola is so content letting their equipment fail in front of the entire country as often as it does.

For these situations where teams are found to get any competitive advantage by cheating the only response has to be forfeiting games like the Patriots should've lost their Super Bowl. Otherwise who wouldn't pay a fine or give up a pick to ensure a critical win?

The Giants will be punished by having the burden of an additional late round pick added. Think of the countless hours of scouting Mara will be forced to pay for

If there were evidence the punishement would be drastic. Instead they are being punished for nothing. A week ago the league had identical evidence against the steelers that they had against the patriots about deflated footballs and did nothing.

The league loves the giants though. Just like they love new england.

If all they get is a fine, I'm using walkie talkies blatantly and breaking the rule every game until they do something about it.

Might as well. 15 seconds is an eternity presnap.

Yes, eleven of them. They tore up all of our swindle sheets and left 'em settin on the scales.
Well slide all 11 of them in behind that Suicide Jockey. He's hauling dynamite and needs all the help he can get.

I wonder if anyone was mic'd up for some NFL Films stuff. In any case, seems pretty likely that some audio was captured from any of several parabolic audio receivers around the stadium. Maybe someone watching the game saw the Giants using a walkie-talkie and listened in.

Nobody on the Giant's staff ever checked to see if this walkie talkie back up system, which if we believe them, is kept turned off in a box on the sidelines, just in case it needs to be turned on and used if the main system breaks down, was legal within the rules?

An entire coaching staff and front office had no idea if the main radio system malfunctioned, the moment they took these walkie talkies out of the box and turned them on, they would be in violation of the league rules? Is this just abject incompetence at their jobs?

Leave aside the fact for the moment that they would have to test these walkie talkies beforehand to make sure they were on the correct frequency to be picked up by the helmet's radio receiver.

NOBODY on the Giant's staff ever thinks for a second, "Gee, maybe we should check to see if it's legal for us to use this as our back up system?"

And once they take these walkie talkies out of the box and start using them, they don't notify the NFL's comms employee at the stadium that's manning the 'dead switch' that cuts off the radios at 15 seconds?

This whole thing stinks.

As the Giants help the NFL sweep Deflategate 2 under the rug, the Giants themselves are now the subjects of the next league investigation: Walkie-talkiegate. The league is expected to fine the Giants for using walkie-talkies in violation of NFL rules during Sunday night’s win over the Cowboys, the New York Post reports. Not even a mention of this in the headlines at NFL.com:facepalm:

If this was Dallas caught with walkie talkies, it would be round the clock 24 hour coverage, but since its the Giants not so much:angry:

NYG, Mara, Steelers, Rooney = Clintons
