Remember, it wasn't Folk's lack of KO power, but the strategy used since ST coverage sucked. They told him to kick at an angle which will always make the kickoffs come up short at times.

I agree with most that this is definitely a wasted pick. There is no requirement to draft a kicker every year just because.

I heard them talking about that....it doesn't ring true to me.....I've seen way too many kicks right down the middle of the field that ended up too short.

If they were at an angle between the 5 and 10 yard line, I wouldn't have been getting all upset at the KO's during games.

It amazes me how many people fail to understand the importance of field position and the reason why we were so bad at it last year.

i think most people realize how important field position is...but drafting a kickoff specialist in the 5th round is quite a reach. Kickoff specialists can be found in FA

Buehler is a game changer at the position whether you want to accept it or not.

have you ever seen him play?

Really? If you can find someone like him in FA, then why are they a FA in the first place?

Folk is a Pro-Bowler.
169 kickoffs
4 touchbacks

with the coverage woes this team has had, pro-bowler or not, his job should be on the line.

because it is rare for teams to carry two place kickers on their roster

if the kicker cant kickoff deep enough, then most teams use their punter to boom it on kickoffs

Kicking FGs is way more important for a FIELD GOAL KICKER than kickoffs.

So the other team gets rid of a guy that cannot boom it to the endzone? And then the Cowboys could go get him?

:laugh2: OK?

if another team got rid of someone, it is probably because they cant kick field goals well....but Dallas is probably not going to be asking Boehller (sp?) to kick field goals.

He's a big sum-of-a-******...

With some pro coaching who knows what this guy will do. And, even if he does not pan out for the Cowboys, someone is going to need a kicker somewher down the line....

And, it's a comp pick to boot!

I was screaming at the tv last year when Paulescu jacked that Buc on a punt return:

If we get to see something like that every now and again from our kicker...

I may have to root for the guy just because of all of the hate for him here. :)

Folk got the same reception last year.
