That's my point. Mike has done a great job. I'm not worried about our coaching anymore.
I am not sold yet. Did you see Dak take off today and make a great play. Did not slide and took a shot to the leg. But about 10 hand offs today were fake options where Dak could have kept it. Almost all of them Dak was open to run for a long run. But they kept handing off instead of letting him take one or two. That would keep a defense wondering. Hmm

Besides starting Vaughn too soon, it was a good offensive day.

I think those are areas that need to be cleared up, to be sure. But I think the larger picture shows a significant difference between Moore and MM. I think the team now looks quicker and more efficient. I'm thrilled with how we look now.

Looking good but not liking some of it. But we have not been pushed yet..

I’m kinda underwhelmed to be honest. Offense definitely is not clicking on all 12 cylinders that I can tell. Dak high % in completions but does anything really stand out? Weird game imo…

Like I said before. Kellen Moore is not genetically intelligent enough to be an NFL level coordinator and decision maker.

At best he's a junior college level offensive coordinator.

This is the west coast offense. Lots of short, quick passes, YAC, scheming guys open. Mixing in the run.

Result…fewer holding penalties, fewer sacks, fewer 3 and outs. The Jets were bringing the heat quickly with delayed DB blitzes often, but the ball was out of Dak’s hand so quickly. Romo commented on it at length. Getting through his reads and the ball is out. Not holding the ball waiting for someone to get open, which means you are often looking at them too long.

Mike isn’t just protecting the defense; this offense protects the OL because even when we’ve had to play backups in the first two games, the ball is out so fast that the pass rush is ineffective.

I love it!
It does make me realize that we have never played WCO here. The one thing I never realized before is that passing to the flat was a bailout option in Air Coryell that rarely goes anywhere whereas in the WCO it's a real route. I'd love for someone to explain to me how it is schemed that the guy always seems to have space to run in whereas in previous years those bailouts were 1-2 yards gains at best.

My only complaint is red zone offense which hasn't been great the last two weeks. #1 last year to wherever we are now -- hopefully they figure that out. I never like crowding the goal line to run the ball. I always like spreading guys out to create some lanes.

So what 38 passes, a lot of those passes were in essence long hand offs as Madden would say. Also if you watched there was the one play to CD on the far side where Duece was running a Swing/Wheel pattern and the defender bit up on it early uncovering CD for a 1st down. MM is making the defense choose how to defend the play instead of the Offensive trying to figure out how to win the play. Sometimes short passes are needed to loosen up a defense because if you beat them enough with them the LB and Safeties will bit on them similar to a run play which opens up over the top. MM is building something for the meat of the schedule the Eagles and SF and others with stout defenses that are trying to figure out tendencies of the Texas Coast Offense

Trolling? or does your humor not quite come across (you need to add some extravagant comment, eg maybe you missed Moore's under utilization of the RB's!!) . You are aware that 'standing out', isnt what the T(W)CO is all about, it's about: quick/short/sharp/detailed/planned/designed execution, with built in checkdowns....rather than the QB standing and waiting for plays to develop and then play the hero/zero ball?

Yep,good point and the fact that CeeDee's all round game makes him 4 receiver's in one then it's difficult to plan a defense around him (even without a top WR2)....I suppose that's the beauty on the TCO, with the built in checkdowns that utilizes our strength (YAC).

MM was too conservative in the red zone. But the rest of the game I was mad because he was passing too much. We both need to get used to it and adjust. Let’s go.
he called a smart game. See, why risk a mistake when your choking the other team out and they can't score? We were already up on them big. I feel that MM is being a bit vanilla and saving some of that aggressiveness for later in the year when it will be needed. He's not showing our hand. This isnt the Kellen Moore offense anymore. MM knows what hes doing.

Agree.

Is Big Mike even talking to the OC during the game?

Looked like Jets went to a zone a lot.

Those short passes were not as effective then.

Need more pre snap motion.

Otherwise, they are just running the play no matter what.

The West Coast concepts and the way MM calls it was a thing of beauty vs what I've been watching for the last 15 years under JG and KMoore.

It's only going to get better, keep in mind there was no Brandin Cooks yesterday and the Jets have a top 3 defense that really showed up in the red-zone.

This a Superbowl team we're watching, we have to stay healthy.

I think thus far McCarthy's play calling is more fundamentally sound than Moore's relative to where the offense is anywhere on the field. He also seems to be more conservative assigning gadget plays.
