Its way too early to make this call, but it was clear we needed a change. We had been running some version of the Garrett offense for 12 years. Im happy we made a change.

However, it doesnt mean Moore can't be successful with the Chargers.

I just wish we could have done this from the get go with McCarthy rather than have Moore foisted on the staff. We might be further along in the progression timeline if we had done that.

Isn't that fun to see? We were missing our No. 2 receiver and going up against a strong pass defense, and he still found ways to get the ball to Lamb.
Were being patient now when people play a two deep safety look. Great underneath plays getting fast guys the ball on the run. We have not seen this kind of advanced offense ever in Dallas. Even the 90's team just lined up and steamrolled people with basic plays. Ive been watching teams do all this kind of stuff forever and we finally are doing it here.

That execution-heavy offense that those stacked 1990s teams perfected were what Garrett tried so hard to emulate, not acknowledging the fact that it is impossible to stack teams like that in the salary-cap age. Moore tweaked what Garrett started some to make it better with motion, but it was still the same concepts.

I'm a fan of the timing-based offense since we had such success with it in the 1990s, but what McCarthy is doing with his Texas Coast offense is a much better fit for today's game IMO.

Night and day. Dak FINALLY has a real offense to work with. We can finally say we have top level coaching here in Dallas. MM and Quinn are great.

MM has simplified things for Dak; lots of short passes and passes into the flats that serve as extended runs; it’s a single read and letting it fly. No need to hold the ball and try and decipher coverages.
Like the pace of the offense…think they ran 66 plays; just the sheer number will wear down the defense.

So refreshing! Gotta luv it!
That's it ? .... LOL

Could you yourself please explain the difference between the two ?

Or is this just to get others for their own view point and thoughts only /
Charger fan today has already seen enough.

What a horribly coached OT, why the hell are we trying to go long every play after the short passes we’re working.
Thanks for Sharing.
This one example helps put Kellen in a nutshell,..

- When something is working- Kellen just stops it and goes to something else.
Is he already bored with a working trend or is he seeking approval or achievement in being versatile and fresh
so very quickly ?

- If a team seems Not to be able to adjust to a Kellen offense happening ... keep going at 'em, dude !
Let the enemy team prove they can stop it
If there is blood in the water .. let the shark feast as.

- He's situational questionable - it's not that he does not run the ball - he doesn't know when to run, keep running ball,.. and when to /not to dial down the vertical ball.
That's what happened vs Niners in playoffs last year.

- And he's not idea in-game adjustments, ..Goes with a 12 personnel (2 TEs) for a short time that is working, but decides to change and go 11 personnel (3 WR).. and stay 11 personnel vs Niners in playoffs.

That's one reason it always bugged me when fans would take potshots at Romo (and Dak). They were doing all they could with what they were given to work with by Garrett and his cronies. Even with our poor defenses, I believe a better offensive system with the players we have had could have at least put us in a championship game.

McCarthy knows how to set a defense up that is why the screens etc are more effective.

The quick passing game helped take some of the pressure off of Edoga and Bass as well.

He also knows how to use his personnel more effectively. He is calling plays to take advantage of their skill set instead of trying to jam them into his scheme.

I don’t disagree, but I have some concerns.

Pollard started out 10-21. 2.1 yards per ain’t gonna cut it. No problem with little swing passes that are really just an extension of the run game, but I don’t think we’ve found the backfield combo/rotation yet. Yeah, i know the Jets have a good D, so we’ll see.

Both Dallas and Jax (my AFC team) had 1st and goal from the 1 and couldn’t punch it in. That bugs the ever loving bejeesus out of me. Def missed Zeke’s big body on that one.

I’ve been a Pollard fan since he was at Memphis, but I’ve said it before: I just don’t think he’s a 20+ carry RB. Take out his 23 yard run and he gained 49 yards on 24 carries. That’s just not enough. He’s dynamic in the pass game. though.

I’m all about grinding the other defense down. We saw lots of that in the 90’s. I’m happy about the win, and I like the play calling, I’d just like to see the offense be a little more dynamic. That was a lot of FGs!

Moore is trash. They'll be successful despite having Moore's low football IQ *** calling plays.

I admit sadly that I was foolish enough to buy into fool's gold for a while and support Garrett — not to the extent that I believed he was the answer, but to the extent that I thought the team might could succeed anyway. Then, I figured out that his good years were a product of primarily taking advantage of weak schedules, his flaws would always be exposed in the playoffs and developed my five-year theory (which is supported by evidence). Any coach now has five years to get us to the Super Bowl or I'm ready to pull the trigger.

Unpopular opinion and i'm no Garrett fan but I believe he was the right decision to hire initially. He did bring his "RKG" mantra far as he could without Jerry and co. meddling. I think Jason had a idea of what type of players he wanted to surround his team with but could only do so much here. That being said, his playbook sucked. many don't remember but Garrett was the one who insisted on building in the trenches when Jerry is the one who thought you could get by with Mackenzie Bernadeaus.

It surely does appear that McCarthy understands exactly what it takes to keep the offense moving forward on the field. He favors consistency over getting cute and spoiling otherwise promising offensive consistency with big plays. Those highly favorable short and quick adjustments are keeping drives moving with more consistency than this team has seen in many years. Here's hoping it continues, just as it has so far in 2023. Without a doubt this offense is solidly on the right track. Winning is far more important than accumulating impressive stats. So far, so good. Keep it up, Big Mike! You're working wonders with these consistently effective drives.

I'm more along the lines of Jerry needs to hire coaches like Jimmy, Parcells and McCarthy. Guys who have been there and done that. The Gaileys, Campos and Garretts don't have enough know-how to go it alone without a strong GM behind him. We talk about coaches, but to an extent, Jerry is a puppet GM. When we get a proven head coach, he generally lets them pull the strings while occasionally throwing something out there like the TO signing to show he's still in charge.

That's why I'm hoping when McCarthy is done here that we give Quinn a chance. He showed that he can get a team to a Super Bowl as a head coach, so he has that kind of clout. Of course, if McCarthy succeeds and stays, we might lose Quinn to another opportunity. I'm hoping Jones can keep showing him the money that keeps him here, though.
