Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports Rutgers CB Devin McCourty is scheduled to visit with the New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys.

Not much of a ballhawk, but he is a CB/FS who plays sick ST's and does return kicks.

Update from Penn State's pro day on Navorro Bowman:

"Bowman said he got his 40 time down to a 4.61 after running a 4.7 at the Combine. It was what he had focused the most on over the last few weeks since the Combine. He saw it as a second chance for the guys who had been at the Combine. It was a more relaxed atmosphere. He wasn't disappointed with his Combine performance, but was happy to be able to show himself again today. Bowman has meetings with the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers lined up."

Sources: WR Bryant to visit Cowboys

By Calvin Watkins
ESPNDallas.com

DALLAS -- Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant, who's draft stock is uncertain, will visit the Dallas Cowboys for a private workout on April 1, according to multiple sources.

Bryant will have a personal workout for NFL teams in his hometown of Lufkin, Texas, on March 30 before coming to Valley Ranch.

Bryant, projected to be the first wide receiver taken in the upcoming NFL draft, did not work out at the NFL scouting combine or at Oklahoma State's Pro Day because of a recent hamstring injury, which has given several teams pause.

Most NFL teams will try to bring in or talk to as many projected draft picks as possible. But the Cowboys haven't used a first-round draft pick on a wide receiver since 1991, when Dallas selected Alvin Harper with the 12th overall pick.
Wide receiver is an interesting position for the Cowboys as starters Miles Austin and Roy E. Williams are entering different stages of their careers.

The Cowboys believe Austin, after his breakout Pro Bowl season, is on the rise. Williams' value to the team, however, is uncertain after consecutive seasons of inconsistent play. The team's younger receivers -- Sam Hurd and Kevin Ogletree -- and veteran No. 3 wideout Patrick Crayton are still valued.

Adding a top receiver in Bryant, should he fall to the bottom half of the first round, would make for an intriguing decision for the Cowboys. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said in the past that drafting a wide receiver in the first round is difficult given how long it takes for players at that position to develop and the amount of money a team has to give out.

The Cowboys drafted Oklahoma wide receiver Manuel Johnson last year in the seventh round.

Kentucky fullback will hit the road at the end of the month.

Joe Fortenbaugh

March 18, 2010 Print This .Add a Comment .From Joe Fortenbaugh and Wes Bunting:

Fullback John Conner will fly to Detroit to meet with the Lions on March 29, according to a league source.

The 5’11”, 240-pound fullback rushed for 158 yards and two scores on 31 carries for the 7-6 Kentucky Wildcats in 2009. Conner is currently the No. 1 rated fullback on the NFP draft board.

The news of Conner’s trip to meet with the Lions comes on the heels of reports that the team is hosting defensive tackles Gerald McCoy (Oklahoma) and Ndamukong Suh (Nebraska) Thursday in Detroit.

In addition to his trip to Detroit, Conner will also be meeting with the Dallas Cowboys on March 31.

Let’s turn it over to NFP draft guru Wes Bunting for the lowdown on Conner:

Conner is a thick fullback prospect with broad shoulders and a physically put-together frame. He showcases a good first step off the ball as a lead blocker and gets into the line of scrimmage quickly. He displays good patience and body control when asked to break down in space and delivers a powerful initial jolt on contact. But he doesn't play with his hands, has a tendency to lower his shoulder into blocks and delivers a good initial blow but fails to stick to defenders through the play. He does a nice job reaching blocks on the outside when asked to pull. ??

He breaks down well in space, but doesn't exhibit the same body control when asked to cut down defenders. Conner has a tendency to whiff on blocks. He showcases good power as a runner, has an above-average first step and hits the hole quickly, but he can get a bit upright and lacks wiggle to his game. He has the power and body control to make his way as an NFL lead blocker but needs to do a better job using his hands and sticking through contact. ??

Grade: 6.6

He's going to be groomed to replace Brooking next year.

Time to get young at ILB again and Lee is a mirror image of Brooking.

Not that I'm against Lee, but so we're giving up on Jason Williams already?

Again, not that I'm against him because if he's the guy I'm thinking of, I thought he looked pretty good at the Combine.

BTW, I hadn't seen that we were interested in Asante. I kinda like him.

I think Sean Lee is a more polished ILB than Williams. Let Williams take over for nickel linebacker and challenge for Bradies spot in a few years.

If Williams is better than Lee than so be it. Let em fight it out.

Worst case we have solid depth at that position. Which is vital in a 3-4.

I'm not, i still have high high hopes for jason williams, brandon williams, and stephen hodge, but you always take best player available when you draft, regardless of position

it just could be that stephen hodges knee isnt coming around its degrading and never will be healed up to play football, so cowboys are covering their bases
