well you know henry will get hurt again

And if our draft pick and vet are not a upgrade over Reeves then maybe we should go get Pac Man.

I dont want the guy though unless he is a final option.

He hasn't even proven enough in this league to be worth the risk that he is.

His 1st year he was amazingly bad. His 2nd year he was pretty darn good. His 3rd year he didn't even play.

Hes not going to just jump back into football and be the player he was in his 2nd year imo.

There should be a thread made, made especially for all the pacman haters, and crybaby's.. !! you guys can go and cry on there!!!

Because some do not relish thugs on the team? Witten is the one who went to the Commissioners office about all the off the field problems taking place in the NFL and talked about needed change. I guess some players like some fans do care. Maybe some players do not want to be lumped into the ideal that all players are thugs and just maybe in does matter to the players and teams image.

In my Dictionary there is no such word as " thugs" .. i wonder what's a thug to some people? a guy that has alot of tatts? maybe a guy that drives a car on 24's, or maybe a guy that like to go out and have fun at night with his friends, while other decide to stay home and chill? i just don't understand sometimes really. so i guess before we got T.O. he was also a " thug " since he had a sharpie in his sock, or maybe because he called jeff garcia " if it smells like a rat it's a rat" ?? :laugh2:

I would say a guy who is constantly getting into trouble with the law which Pacman has. I don't care if he has tatts as you call it the guy can't stay out of legal troubles, why the hell do you think he was forced to miss last year? He let his team down because of his stupidity and you want to being that stupidity to Dallas? No thanks, you may love the ideal of have idiots on the team not all of us share that feeling. As for TO I have stated that he has never been in trouble with the law he has no record of past legal problems. He is thin skinned and insecure at times but I'm never concerned if he can play the game or not due to being busted.

I don't like the guy, but if we sign him I won't be crying in my coffee either. He's talented, for sure.

However, when people say it can't hurt a thing to sign him to an incentive laden contract because you can just cut him if he acts up... that isn't entirely accurate. He can hurt the team.

Here's how: If we sign Jones and then don't get as many DB's in the draft because of Pac-Man... we could be hurt. Let's say Newman/Henry/PM is a terrific defensive backfield and we are cruising to the playoffs. What happens if Jones gets into a fight at a strip club in Dallas and is suspended for the final two games and the playoffs?

What happens is we're back stuck with just Newman and Henry at CB for the most important part of the season. We're short at DB when we could have drafted Jenkins or Cromartie in round 1 and had them just figuring things out toward the playoffs and really becoming a force at CB.

Now if we draft as if Pac-Man won't be playing CB, fill the DB spots and then we simply add Pac-Man to that group, then I could see it. But we can't "fill" a roster spot with him and draft at other positions because we can't trust him to stay eligible. $0.02

True, True very True. But you do know that not everybody is perfect right? Pacman made alot of bad decisions while iwth the titans. The guy has said hes ready to play football. the guy is a very good player, why not take a chance at the guy, we did with T.O and look what happened. i believe people deserve a 2nd chance in life.

You are just as guilty of generalizing as those you accuse of it.

Did ever occur to you that some may be referring to those who constantly have run ins with the law, hang out with convicted drug dealers and can't seem to stay away from strip clubs ..........

To assume that people are judging solely on superficial things rather than a person's actions is just as bad as those who actually do judge on the superficial alone.

Pacman has had many chances, when Tenn took him they acknowledge that they were willing to give him a chance and he let them down. Pacman's problems is a long list of run in's with the law and through out it all he has done nothing to change himself. When Dallas got Tank he spoke with the commissioner and he did make changes from who he was hanging with to selling off all his guns, he was trying to show he had changed as a man and willing to take responsibility for his actions Pacman has not. I don't want to see this team get into the middle of a season and have this idiot pull one of his bone head moves and leave the Cowboys scrammbling to find a replacement. I would much rather invest in the draft for a CB than rely on Pacman.

We put Newman in as a rookie and other teams have used highly drafted CB in their rookie season as well.

Ryan Leaf might top him...sure we gave up way too much for Galloway...but at least he played and put up some numbers when he had a healthy QB.

Leaf...Oy Oy Oy.:laugh2:

Given the fact we were cap strapped and Leaf hardly cost Dallas anything and nothing longterm I think it was worth taking the chance on getting him. No doubt it did not workout but Dallas had few options given the lack of space within the cap.

lol, ok, 2nd worse.

Michael Irvin doing coke screwed us out of Randy Moss and then Michael Irvin getting injured cost us 2 1st round picks.

Irvin was worth it though.

For sure.

When we were going 5-11 he was a big reason for the 5.

We went 3 and out 90% of the time and the other 10% was a long bomb Touchdown to Joey.

That was the only pass we could complete.

Thats the thing about TO.

Love him or hate him you knew we were going to get a dominant player.

Pacman has only played 2 seasons and set out his 3rd.

There are absolutely no guarantees with this guy.
T.O. got 25 mil over 3 years. We're not giving Pacman anywhere near that.

There are no guarantees, which is why we give him a low-risk deal.

If he effs up, buh bye. If not, it's potentially a HUGE addition. I'm all for it.
While some of us were aginst the signing of TO one thing none of us worried about was TO getting arrested or having off the field problems with police.
It doesn't matter, and here's why: whether it's T.O. creating havoc in the locker room or Pacman and his cronies shooting up a strip club, the bottom line is that it bothers us as fans because it hurts the team.

Signing T.O. was a risk because it had the potential to hurt the team, especially with how much we paid for him. The signing has worked out wonderfully, would you not agree?

Signing Pacman is also a risk because if he gets in trouble off the field, he can't help us on the field and it would be a distraction. BUT we aren't going to break the bank for him, and since Henry and Newman will both be in their 30s when the season starts, we could still justifiably draft a CB in the 1st or 2nd round. "You can never have enough good corners", as the saying goes.

Pacman has said numerous times now that he'd love to be a Cowboy... don't underestimate that. He should know that this will be pretty much his last chance with Sheriff Goodell in charge (if he even gets reinstated).

replacement? Dallas.... even if they sign Pacman..... will still draft a CB high.....IMHO....and its not like Henry and Newman are goin anywhere......I dont see the risk here.

If we can sign him to a risk free contract....then its all good.....so Jerry loses a few million bucks....big deal.

IMHO....if the contract is done right.....the reward outweighs any risk.....Pacman is a talented football player.

But then again....some here dont want him here because he is a thug....and thats all good.......I just dont understand.....how can some here support the Irvin fiasco but wont support bringing in Pacman.

Because if we are to fill the void I would rather do it with someone we can depend on. This team right now is not a bad team, things that hurt us this past season was not lack of talent or effort it was stupid mistakes. So while I am in favor of looking to the future with a drafted CB I don't care for getting a guy who just can't seem to stay out of trouble.

As for Irvin he was a very productive member of this team long before he got into any trouble and it was the 1st time he got into trouble.

I think most are willing to give people a second chance, Pacman on the other hand has had many run in with the law and has had 2nd and 3rd chances and more.

I don't want to return to the days of Lett where he would play a few games and then gone for the year then get a another chance and be gone for another year.

Sometimes in life you have to relize that this is just who some people are and Pacman has not shown anything what so ever to show he deserves yet another chance let alone to a team who is young and upcoming. I would rather take the trash out then bring it inside.
