then you need your eyesight checked. Because it is horrible.

Nope. Maybe the Campo era skewed my mind! I thought Woody was a stud, but he did get beat. A lot. But every DB gets beat.

only a steeler troll would actually believe you

there have been many examples of inferior players getting props over those that really deserved it because the media loved them.

Joe Namath being a shining example.

Feel free to argue with the NFL media, historians, and fans from everywhere but Dallas. I stand by my opinion, and you are welcome to yours....and that's all you have...an opinion. I think you will find it difficult to find any NFL fan who would take Woodson over Polamalu.

It should tell you something that so many of us Dallas fans who hold Woody in high regard still choose Polamau over him.

Polamalu.

This is like comparing Deion to Aeneas Williams. Darren Woodson was a great player in his own right and highly respected around the league but Polamalu in his prime was exceptional. Sure Troy could be isolated in pass coverage some, and Deion hated to make a tackle. But he was near dominant in how he was able to pretty much roamed the entire field. Again Woody was a great player and all-timer in his own right

If you told someone there's a Polamalu vs Woodson debate going on they would think if was Polamalu vs Rod Woodson. Here's a couple of rankings to chew on just to get an idea how far away Darren Woodson is from Polamalu in the eyes of some. It's only a couple of opinions but there's a consensus out there if you care to look. You won't find a ranking out there that has Darren Woodson ranked near where Polamalu is ranked. Most rankings have Cliff Harris ranked ahead of Woody. Again I'm not trying to take anything away from him he was a very good player for the Cowboys and I appreciated his contribution to the team but the fact that Jerry has yet to add him to the ROH when 5 of his teammates from the 90's have been inducted is pretty solid evidence he wasn't as great a player as some FANS think he was. He's a borderline ROH player and will never be inducted into the HOF because there isn't many safeties in the HOF and Polamalu and Ed Reed are first ballot locks.

What we're seeing in this thread is typical of a few Cowboy FANS and that is to tear down the game of a truly great football player to make their own player look better. There's not a great player in the league who hasn't had there games cut down by FANS here attempting to rank their own players ahead of them. Threads like this expose the incredible bias some have. Some of the comments that have been made about Polamalu are due to a strong hatred for the Steelers. Some seem to think it's a crime to rank an opposing player ahead of a Cowboys player. Homerism inflicts about 1 out of every 3 Cowboy fans it causes them to advocate their team and players to an unreasonable or irrational degree. Fortunately it's not contagious and can't be spread by the exchange of posts on a message board by an infected member.

Nice reference.

Reminds me of two 80's safeties that I thought were awesome -- Joey Browner and Deron Cherry.

Man, there is such a gigantic backlog of safeties that are worthy HOF consideration.

While I am at it -- that site has Rod Woodson as the #1 safety of all time -- which I disagree with. He might have played 4-5 years as a safety. Most of his career his was a top notch CB.

I'm sure they'll be a few who will scoff at those references but if they do a google they'll see most have Polamalu and Woody ranked in a similar order. Rankings are all opinion and they'll differ but you won't find anyone outside Cowboys Nation that has Darren Woodson ranked ahead or on par with Polamalu.

Never choose a steeler for anything good, I would rather the Commanders win than the steelers. I hate all their players and don't have anything good to say about any steeler. Polamalu is gone and I glad for it, hope somebody shaves his head.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

You just proved one of the points I made that a lot of the tearing down that's being done to Polamalu is because he was a Steeler. Some of you need to put your biases aside and judge a player off their ability rather than allowing the team they played for to influence your opinion of them.

Polamalu is an easy first ballot guy. He should have retired a year or two sooner, but he was unbelievable. I'm glad he actually retired on his own. Nothing was more embarrassing than Hines Ward floating around training camps, not getting a contract then "deciding that its right to retire a Steeler".

I have to stand by you. And with a pic of Chuck Howley, you're anything but a Steelers troll. In a 4-3 scheme, Howley and Thomas Henderson are my favorite DC OLBs. Howley should be in Canton.
