Poll: Will they extend Dak by March 13th?

Yea, that has been the norm . But there’s also the fact not many teams are winning championships with their QB cap at or over 20%.

But there are many contending in playoffs ,etc.
Doesn’t mean you still can’t contend. It just makes it tougher to surround him.

The more Elite the QB is in higher cap percentage the more likely you can win a championship.

Having a highly cap percentage QB that isn’t Elite makes it tougher .

Brady had crap at WR for most of his career. Look at the chiefs this year, they had one of the worst WR groups in the NFL. Ive said it forever. Teams rosters from player 1-52 all fit into the bell shaped curve. Most are in the middle of the bell with a few outliers. The only REAL difference is QB. Should they extend him? Heck no.
Will they do it by March 13? Probably not. I put yes, but that was before I realized how close that date actually was. But they stupidly believe in the choker, so they'll likely extend him.

Keeping Dak in 2024 is causing big problems with our cap.

I don’t see how the ROI is working out for Jerry.

Gallup, Cooks, and DLaw would have to get June 1 cuts just to get us over the cap.

Maybe restructure some of our top players just to have any money for FA.

Bottom line: Dak isn’t worth wrecking our cap.

NFL teams are allowed two post June 1 cuts per year. But if you designate a player a post June 1 cut you must carry his full salary cap hit until June 1.

So was it our owner that fumbled in GB in 2014? Was it the owner that dropped a pass that would have beaten the Giants in 2009? Was it the owner this year that couldnt stop GB from walking up and down the field? Everyone saying how great Dan Quinn is.... so how did our owner cost us against GB?

Agreed. The minute Jerry traded for QB Lance, I knew Dak's days were numbered. Dak will not be the 2016 Draft QB exception. All of the QBs were traded from their drafted teams. Dak walks in 2025. Exciting times ladies and gents.

He recently said if people are talking cowboys , it means were doing our job well.
That is him saying that interesting and relevant is as or more important than winning in playoffs.

Jerry is good at that aspect, he is not so good at winning, so he tends to go with selling the team since that is what he is good at.

Dak, once again was avg in playoffs... but he was about as good as any qb in the league for the entire season. And thats coming from a lifelong Dak basher.

Well after some thought, the jones boys created this mess, and they can deal with it and no fan can fix it .
There is no quick fix to create a SB caliber team.
It would require a new FO with a good plan and it would take at least a few years.

I still will say keeping dak @ 60 mil a year or anything over 40 is stupid with the OL going downhill fast only 1 good WR and no run game.
That is not a good formula for winning esp in playoffs.

This coming season they have tougher teams to play, wash should be much better, so lets see how they do this year.

Agree, but unlike some, Mahomes has that ability to keep the Chiefs in a game, and is able to lead the Offense.
