Next years cap
Any excess from this year will roll over but we’ve also signed several players as the season hasn’t went on. Most are cheap but still takes money away
Sportsrrac and over the cap has different totals. I assume one has been updated for recent signings
But some where between 7-8 mil is what we have available with our top 51 signed
Also there will be some increase in the cap I’m sure
Before Covid it was very predictable but not sure if it’s totally back to normal for next year yet
The estimated tag for a RB is 12 mil
Thanks, I am sure this will be discussed more once the season ends.

Apology accepted.
As you well know, there was a large contingent of Cowboys Fans in general, and Cowboys Zone Members in particular, who vehemently dissaproved of Elliott's selection at #4 overall in that 2016 draft because --
A) Most wanted CB Jalen Ramsey at that spot
B) Many stated a running back - no matter his talent and ability, along with his production in college - is not worth a top-10 pick.
The negativity and criticism towards Zeke grew with his controversial behavior and questionable decision-making away from football his first few years in the league.
Then ----his holdout for a reworked contract before his rookie deal elasped, followed by the lucrative extension he received ---made Elliott Cowboys player nongrata no.1 over the last few years.
But I'm not in that camp that denegrates him.
But you just recapped all the "denegrates him".

"controversial behavior"...like you LOVE the Godell suspension.
Then you worked in the contract.

recapped like nobody's business...even kicking espn's ARSE.

So...my apology is henceforth revoked.

You...are straight up zeke hater.

It's okay. It's fine. Just admit it..be honest.

Geeze i have to start trusting my natural instincts.

Smart post of the day right here. It’s a no brainer move.
Really. It's a business. So make the business decision.

Tony Pollard is still BANKING cash. Do not feel sorry for him. If he wasn't playing football....what else would he do?

Dosen't matter you still let him walk. Any decent rookie RB will be fine behind our OL. That's the biggest issue Dallas has had over the past 27 years. They either want to hang on to players past their usefulness or overpay players that can easily be replaced
These guys praising Pollard...BLAST zeke.

"Zeke needs a good o-line"

Oh...you mean the same o-line tony needs?

Comparing his career rushing average with Jim Brown and Barry Sanders is getting carried away. Emmitt Smith’s career rushing average was 4.2. All those Hall of Fame backs were workhorses that had more than three times the carries that Tony Pollard has had over his career and they were used in short yardage situations, which lowers your yards per carry. Pollard is rarely used in short yardage situations, we use Zeke.
Tony Pollard and Dak Prescott owe Zeke.

No lie...

I HATE that our "fans"....hate Zeke and want him "shown the door".

Complete imbecile idiots.

I don't hate Zeke. I didn't hate emmitt after he lost his speed and was washed up either.

Its like throwing to a slow possession wr or te like #82 for 7-8 years too long lmao

They can't be the main ingredient. Just a Back up role

Pollard is easily our best offensive threat. 12 TD's now.

Exactly and people on here that call themselves fans want to let him go before the details are even out about what contract he gets, what our salary cap will look like or any of that because of the principle of "don't pay rbs anything". Then we'll be worse next year and they'll have no clue why.

We're in the midst of a playoff race, and we're discussing post season ideas? He should chase his paper, unless we tag him.

That football mind is Wil McClay.
Our small success version of Money Ball players goes as Wil McClay goes .. not Mike McCarthy.

- His group leads and does the inside heavy duty work on players around the NFL.
McClay gathers information in what the coaches prefer per scheme-fit and employs player evaluation and reports to those particular players
Occasionally we'll get players tied into current from past experience ..ala Damonte Kazee, Keanu Neal with Quinn...and Anthony Barr per George Edwards Jr.

- One reason why we may not be able to get over the hump is a lack of a star middle ground player.
Something Stephen has long been criticized for.

- As much as i am skeptical i am about his diva personality, that middle ground star status maybe actually the reason why there is the continued
speculation of Beckham coming here to Dallas.
Disagree.

Tony just needs someone to seal the edge

He actually has a gear that can get around the corner and take off

If Zeke is in he has to go n and s only so it's easier to predict

That's the biggest problem w backs w no speed. That and getting run down from behind

We're paying 18.5 million for a pass blocker and short yardage n and s rb

And we're not giving the way faster Davis any opportunities to see what he can do.

So if one gets hurt we're behind the 8 ball.

Its taken 2 years of crying just to get Pollard even involved

Y’all are funny. Bottom line is that no way in HELL Jerry ever cuts Zeke, and Pollard will be franchised.

Smart teams don't deal out big money deals to RB's.

Agree/Disagree?

Not *long* money.

An elite RB at the top of his game is worth franchise money. Maybe more.

Teams get hurt when the sign RBs to multi year contracts. RBs just don't last at an elite level that long. You're sure to end up paying elite money for average play.

If this happens, then we just walk into the top 5 in the following draft. But this FO is blind enough to do this. Zekes contract was intentionally set up to allow for zeke to be moved or contract reconstructed this off season yet, the FO will mess it up.

I would use that Dalton Shultz money on Pollard and ask Zeke to take a pay cut kind of like DLaw did to stay on the roster. No need to create more holes.
