Elliot can and will restructure they can offer Pollard money either way. It’s whether another team offers more and whether Pollard wants to leave.

You have the 2022 playoff Zeke mixed up w the 2018 playoff Zeke sorry

Pollard is the Lead back now by a long shot

If Jerrah thought Zeke was the main back he'd run him that way. The same way he has since he owned the team.

He's just saving face because that's how they do it here bruh

Pollard and Davis may be putting up monster numbers if an $18 million Zeke wasn't blocking their progress.

Zeke is just a better blocker and goal line back. But without a top run blocking oline his washed up status would shine more brightly.

2021 Playoff Zeke had 12 rushes for 31 yards and 4 targets and 1 reception for 0 yards

I know he and the oline were banged up. But he's not a playoff caliber back.

They got the wild card sewed up. You'd think theyd insert Davis more and save Zeke for the playoffs.

Davis has shown flashes. He isn't getting run down from behind lmao

The 2021 playoff non scoring Zeke is coming. Just be patient.
So you think Pollard is a top back without a good o-line.

Mkay....yer nuts.

Restructure Zeke, tag Pollard & draft a RB in the mid rounds to replace one or both the following year. Not sure what kind of contract Pollard will get for there are a lot of quality backs that will be FA and the draft is supposedly loaded with quality backs.

I say again.. I'm not letting a great player go on a maybe. Yes MAYBE we can find a big play running back to replace Pollard in the draft. MAYBE we can replace what Zeke brings with another running back. To hell with that.. I KNOW Pollard is a big play back and KNOW Zeke is a tough north south runner who is money in highly leveraged situations and who will gnaw off his own leg to protect the QB. No the Cowboys cannot pay Zeke 12 million next year nor should they.. but their mindset needs to be figuring out how to work the money to keep the pair in Dallas. Reduce Zeke, give Pollard a nice raise with a fat bonus.. and let's keep winning games.. Maybe spend that high draft pick on a pocket crunching DT.

With Pollard you are looking at 7.5 to 8 mill contract.

Over paid quarterback. Do you know how much they’re getting paid now he’s way under paid.

Who cares...Overpaid is Overpaid. How do you think Denver feels paying that dumpster fire of a QB.

The fear is that at least one idiot owner will offer him 12-13 million a year. It only takes one, man. And frankly if he gets that offer, thank him for the memories and let him walk. But I'm not letting him walk over 7-8 million a year. Play makers are hard to come by. You want as many as you can get.

Can zeke restructure? He seems like a real team player lately

"Restructure " is not the way to go with a declining Zeke, That just means pushing the money can down the road into an already existing contract.
Cannot keep committing that much money to a player that doesn't offer the value of his contract anymore.

Best to demand a pay cut, a re-do new contract. ..or cut the player and take the dead money cap hit.
Zeke is at the least a complimentary role player now.

I would absolutely love to and want to keep him on the team, but some team out there is going to give him ALOT of money, that we will not match. Time to draft well for someone with similar measurables/style.

RB is a tough position to deal with because every year there are guys available in the 3rd, 4th, 5th rounds that can do well

IMO it's better to invest in OL. I think the NFL/fandom needs to reassess what makes a "stud" RB now versus the 70s-00s,

I'll take a Tony Pollard or Aaron Jones over a prototypical "stud" RB.

Jones makes $12M/yr on avg. Is that about right for Pollard too?

Smart teams don't deal out big money deals to RB's.

Agree/Disagree?
Depends on how big the deal is. If he wants $15-20 million/year letting him walk is a strong consideration. If he'll take $12 million give or take, we should jump all over that. I think he gets that he might have a harder time as an every down back with 20+ carries per game, so he may take something reasonable.

I think he runs really hard I think he’s pretty effective but I can see how a lot of players can do what he does at a low cost.
I think the team loves him.

Restructure Dak, cut Zeke, draft a RB, use Zekes money to get a OL, CB, DT in FA.

Good luck with that.
Stephen will only get bargain cheap vets.
" Money ball" players that he hopes to roll the dice and hits home (ala Dante Fowler, Malik Hooker, Jaylon Kearse)

Why? Why do we have to let him walk? That might be a TERRIBLE idea. He is the 1 guy that gives us juice on offense. Letting Zeke walk makes much more sense. We have the kid Davis as well and he has been real good. Teach the kid how to pass block and we have Zeke's replacement to pair with Pollard in 2023.Dowdle can be the 3rd guy. Pollard may never be a great pass blocker. He is what he is, a guy that can take it the distance and change a game fast. Thats what he is. Zeke is great but is replaceable. Its a talented deep draft in 2023 btw, for running backs. We can draft a guy as well.

As much as we all been critical of this tactic by Stephen, its been paying off so far.
