Pollard couldn't do half of what Kamara can do
Granted Pollard is a rookie, and Kamara is 3 yr vet, so I wouldn't say Pollard couldn't match Kamaras ability or even surpass it..
who knows at this point, but I do like what Ive seen and how he fits this offense.
I would say our running game style is very similar to the Saints with Ingram running off tackle, and Kamara doing his thing in the reception perception game.
We just haven't had that style to match Zeke, or pair, complement even better.
Dunbar experiment was a feeble attempt to add that dimension to this offense, and I see a very high ceiling for young rook Pollard in this scheme.

It's ironic that Kamara is light years ahead of Pollard, but Pollard is just as good as Zeke in some Cowboy fans eyes.

receiving ? I saw him drop an easy swing pass from Dak in the Miami game. Maybe not poor, but not strong either.

The stats have Pollard as 3 of 3 (100% catch rate) in the Miami game.

Pollard has a 100% catch rate for the season.

Cooper has that rep of dropping passes.

He is a very good receiver too and I'm glad he's on our team
Cooper's catch rate 76.2% this season.

Cooper's catch rate with the Cowboys was 70% last season.

The Career average for Dez was a 58% catch rate.

Seriously. I love Pollard, but lets try to remain realistic.
Pollard couldn't do half of what Kamara can do

Roy, the post above was the 2nd post in this thread.

My point and the point of most people in this thread is that there is no proof that Pollard can't "do half of what Kamara can do".

By making comparisons, I was not saying that Pollard is definitely as good or better than Kamara.

I don't think anybody was saying that.

If people are going to post dumb statements like: "Pollard couldn't do half of what Kamara can do", then I'm going to post a rebuttal with some facts.

Then somebody always has to go to the extreme saying that comparing Pollard to Kamara is like comparing Gallup to Jerry Rice.

Kamara has been good but is far from establishing himself as an all time great player.

2018 Stats:
Rushing Yards
Zeke: 1434
Kamara: 883

Receiving:
Zeke: 77 or 95, 81% catch rate
Kamara: 81 or 105, 77% catch rate

Receiving Yards:
Zeke: 567, 6 yards/target
Kamara: 709, 6.8 yards/target

Thanks Xman. Guess I'll chalk up to senility and I'll increase my meds. Can't be screwing up like that here. Some of y'all are too much on your game.

Never ever was a Dez fan. Thanks

IM a huge Pollard fan. And honestly, if he had the durability, I think he put up similar numbers to Zeke getting 20-25 touches a game.

My stance was thinking you were saying that Pollard could definitely do what Kamara does or better.

But make no mistake about Kamara, he is probably the most skilled RB in the NFL. He scores, makes huge plays. 18TD's last year was no joke.

He breaks tackles better than Zeke does. I don't think Pollard has that kind of tackle breaking ability or strength.

Vision and quickness and versatility, I am there. Not sure on the carry the load part. That much is unproven.

I wouldn't say that Kamara carries the load.

Kamara had 194 rushing attempts last season.

Zeke had 304 in the regular season and they held him out of game 16.

This year Kamara's rushing attempts are 76% of Zeke's rushing attempts.

Give me a back that scores 18 TD's over a back that scores 9 TD's.

Zeke and Kamara are two different types of backs. Ill take Kamara all day, every day. Unless he proves he cannot handle all the work.

Without a doubt

Kamara is at worst the 2nd best back in the league

I can't believe there are some using receiving stats to try and point out that Zeke isn't "that much worse" of a receiver than Kamara lmao.

I'd bring in the fact there's a 99% chance that a backup rookie can't do half of what the 1st or 2nd best back in the league can do.

Baloney, bro.

Kamara: 5'10, 215 lbs, 4.53 40 yd dash.

Pollard: 6'0", 210 lbs, 4.37 40 yd dash.

Tony is barely getting started. I bet by year's end, Pollard will be able to do not only as much as Kamara but more due to his bigger size and faster speed.
if only size and speed = Good Football player....remember Alexander? the WR in Dallas, ran a 4.29 and he was 6'3" didn't amount to much.

am I saying Pollard is not good...no, far from it...

tell me how good a football player he is...not how big and fast he is.....

Well, we get to see the starting RB in New Orleans this sunday that backup Tony Pollard has been compared to coming out of the NFL draft from Memphis State in Alvin Kamara.

Kamara started his impressively stellar career as a rookie behind Mark Ingram who seem to take on more the bell cow bulk and load of the running game while AK spelled him in spots and nickel situations and eventually became a bigger part the more splash plays he made his rookie year, ..soon teams were far more afraid of Kamara than Ingram.

and I’m trying not to go overboard but could Pollard actually have more explosiveness and miss ‘em elusiveness than even Zeke ?

And when do we get to see the level of Pollard’s receiving skills as a weapon in Kellen’s offense ?
I don't know if pollard is more explosive ND has more wiggle than Zeke.

I'm comfortable saying Zeke isn't very explosive and doesn't have a lot of wiggle.
