Production is a big part of it with QBs. If it wasn’t for production the Rams would have never traded for Stafford. He had a losing regular season and playoff record but he could put up big numbers, which leads to scoring. Everyone still talks up Justin Herbert because of his stats.
The action of making or manufacturing from components or raw materials, or the process of being so manufactured.

So are you saying that Dak sells more jerseys? Is JJ keeping Dak just for production?
That raw material wore out about four years ago.

Screw that.

We’ve used a 5th, 7th and a 4th on QBs since Dak has been here. He’s played too well for us to use a first round pick on a QB. The Cowboys have only used three first round picks on QBs in their entire history. Craig Morton in 1965, Troy Aikman and Steve Walsh in 1989. It appears the Joneses may let Dak play out his deal and make a decision on him when they have to.
Yeah we drafted 3 first round QBs, plus Staubach who would’ve been a 1st if not for his Naval obligations, in our first 30 years.

Last 30 years we drafted 0 QBs in the first and only 1 (Quincy) in any of the first 3 rounds.

At least we got “lucky” in finding 2 QBs on day 3 or later who were good but not great and we’ve spent nearly 20 years between the two of them, netting is 4 wildcard wins.

Quincy Carter was a second rounder but our first pick in 2001. We needed a QB after moving on from Aikman and Carter didn’t pan out. It led to 5 years of futility trying to find a QB. Until we fix the running game issues, defensive issues and penalty issues that keep plaguing us year after year in postseason we won’t get far with any QB.

Our defense only held its own once against SF and Dak had a terrible game. You have to keep giving him chances because we don’t have a better option and he’s been great in the regular season and has consistently gotten us to the playoffs. I’ll change course when I come up with a better option waiting in the wings or he struggles through the regular season and it becomes clear it’s time to move on.
Defense was fine in both 49ers playoff games.

23-17… Dak had an INT inside our 30 directly leading to a SF TD. Defense onlygave up 16pts. Not to mention Dak running up the middle with :13 left and no timeouts.

19-12…Dak had 2 INTs. One deep in our territory giving SF a FG. We also recovered a muffed punt deep in 49er territory but had to settle for a FG.

Both winnable games and Dak came up small while the defense gave us a good chance.

No QB will get far in the playoffs giving the ball to the other team... every year DAK has been in the playoffs its a PICK PICK PICK to kill any and all momentum at that time.

Futility due to not adequately addressing the QB position. Quincy was a reach to boot. Consensus late 3rd to 4th rounder.

Just pick the next QB not taken with the first pick of the draft. Flip that coin.

Then go from there with Dak.

You can’t possibly be serious. We gave up 169 yards rushing to SF in 2021. How is that fine? They had the ball 8 minutes longer than we did. You’re not going to win a playoff game giving up almost 170 yards rushing and allowing your opponent to control the ball. Get real!

You also don't win games when the QB doesn't show up until the end of the game.

He’s had some picks in the playoffs but he’s thrown twice as many TDs. If we had a damn running game and a defense that could stop someone he wouldn’t have to air it out so much.

Carter was a reach because we left ourselves with nothing at the position. When you’re desperate for a QB you reach. This is why we haven’t used many first round picks on QBs.

Defense gave up 16 points Dak gave them 7.
Dak led offense only scored 17.

Just as the team has momentum, Good ole Dak will throw a pick.. His Picks are ill timed, They always happen at the worst time.

LOL. We were desperate because Jerry didn’t plan or prepare. Opted to sign some projects/reclamation projects and then reached for QC trying to find the next McNabb since Jerry is clueless.

That 7 points was on the defense for not making a stop. Hold them to 3 but not a TD. That was another game where our defense sucked. Had we had more opportunities with the ball that game might have turned out different but SF won the battle in the trenches and controlled the ball.

You don’t win playoff games when your defense never shows up.
Or when your QB can’t score more than 17 points, like in both 49ers games, while also spotting them points.

Just keep putting it entirely on him and ignore the defense. By the way I’m confusing you with the other Mike.

That would be 4 points if we go with your assumptions the defense can’t give up 26 yards. Either way the defense held the 49ers below 20 points 2 playoff games in a row, but Dak couldn’t get it done, like usual.
