Hypothetically, if the Bills release Manuel, and we pick him up off of waivers ... there's no way he can challenge for the backup spot. So are you willing to lose Vaughn for Manuel ???

Most definitely. EJ Manuel is raw and is a project but he was a 1st round talent. Some felt he was taken too early. Either way, even in his worst games he's shown more than Vaughn. Vaughn is simply here because he's young and he's shown flashes at practice. That gets you on the PS.

Keep your eyes on the Texans. They just named Hoyer the starter and Mallet is pretty upset. They may trade him. I doubt they would but it's worth a phone call. Say a 5th or 6th for the guy. I would take him over Weeden in a second

5th or 6th is too much. Rather see what Showers has.

Hmmm...Romo goes down for the year.....Troy Aikman looks like he is in shape...
Favre, Kurt Warner? Geez the thought makes me sick..

Now if Aikman came back then I want Hershel Walker and Randy Moss here with him...
Tell me we wouldn't be entertaining at least.

Mallett is 6'7" with a cannon arm who can definitely stretch the field and could start for at least a few teams, OB is a chicken poop for going with a play not to lose loser in Hoyer. He would be among the best back-ups in the league Showers can be 3rd string.

I like that idea. Get rid of those other 2 on our roster.

The only reason they would cut or trade Mallett is because he can't handle being a back up...so why would he be happy to be here and back Romo up for the next few years.

I don't think Manuel would be horrible. I would be willing to lose the stud that is Dustin Vaughan to get him.

He has some talent, was rushed in before he was ready and could use a year or two on learning behind a good vet. I do like Austin Davis as well as someone to kick the tires on. Right now, I think Showers is more ready than Vaughan and would keep him instead.

No.

Stick with Weeden & Showers.

Yes, Showers. He is NOT clearing waivers. For cripes sake, teams are looking at guys like Pat Devlin and Josh Johnson.

Heck, even Vaughan may not clear waivers. But I'd rather they keep Showers
