Preseason disclaimer obviously, but honestly it looks like a rerun from the end of last year. Same anemic passing game, workman running game, “good enough” defense (against Bungles/49ers anyway). They can beat some teams playing like this, but they will continue to get rolled if the other team jumps out in front early.

ugly game. preseason games should only be half games. second half of preseason games are just horrible to watch.

Taco looked good.
really impressed with Dorance Armstrong.
still love our LBs.

Joe Looney handled business.
Kadeem Edwards might have leap-frogged Fleming as our 7th best OL in my opinion.
Hurns,Gallop and Lenoir look ready.
Im a little less confident in our TE group now than I was going into Training Camp...I still think Schultz will get there.

again Connor Williams got better as the game went on.

didnt notice some young DBs...Kelly,Ward,Olumba....Olumba played better than last week.
still an opportunity for them...especially with Showers hurt.

another solid effort by Woods and Price up-front.
hope Datone is ok.

These are all peripheral.

The core of your team, the meat, the middle has to be sound.

We have real problems there.
They have no depth at Safety and have injured DTs. I'm hopeful on Woods at 1T because he's kinda their only shot at having a decent run defense. Price wasn't very good against the run.

Meh..whatever...would like to have seen more deep passes in this game.

It's preseason and its the freakin bungles....I was hoping to see a couple of bombs.

Chunk it already!

Think about it this way.

The team is banking their hopes at the 1 Tech and up the middle on a guy that was a practice squad dude last year.

Everyone needs to keep in mind. If a player here and there goes down, The player taking over will still be surrounded by other good players.
It’s not like our entire OL will all,be out at the same time. Same for the D.

Well in the past they have been on the DL. And the D suffered without Lee. But we have depth there now.
I am concerned with that depth on the OL. But we are still better there than last year. But not by much with Marcus Martin out.

Safety is a concern because of depth but i like Woods and Heath. Woods showed me he can play that deep safety because of his range. He should've intercepted that ball. If one of those guys go down we are in trouble.

One of those guys did go down. Woods is out with a hamstring injury. We don't know how serious yet.

This is preseason,so don't expect the Cowboys to show you our true offensive and defensive looks for the season, just vanilla and maybe some sprinkles.

I know. Watching him play, he looks like the type of guy that would make a decent role player at 1T. On this team that means he's pretty much the best option for the spot by default.

Jerry is supposed to be on the post game show on the local station here.
Will see if he has a Zack update.

I know the starters need reps too, but after tonight, I sit them all until opening day at Carolina. For 2 reasons: 1) the obvious injury risk. 2) Our 2nd and 3rd teamers looked absolutely horrible tonight. It's obvious they need the work, especially in the secondary. Good God, that 2nd half was hard to watch.

A pretty good assessment IMO.

I also don't buy this whole notion of "it's the preseason, the Cowboys wont show their playbook" stuff people throw out. I might be more inclined to buy it if we have always seen a stark difference in what we see in the preseason and then the regular season, but we often don't.

I guess this year we can hope there is a bunch they aren't showing of the new Dak friendly offense.

I'm not sure why everyone is down on the tight ends. They were involved early when Dak was at quarterback and getting decent protection.

Everything fell apart on offense when the starting line went out. I don't blame the tight ends, quarterbacks and receivers for that.
