1 winning season out of 4 years doesn't deserve a higher ranking.
He's been 12-4 and 5-3.
What about the other winning season?
On the other hand he's never had a losing season.

So why does Chip Kelly get ridiculed here if Garrett gets a pass? Kelly coached up two 10-6 teams with Sanchez and Vick starting for a roughly a full season combined. Not to mention a horrible secondary and an
I guess I jumped the gun when I read you didn't want to focus on the middle seasons.
And you're right, 8-8 is average. But what do you call 3 straight 8-8 seasons where you controlled your own destiny each time and lost? Granted, one was with Kyle Orton, but it's not like he plated horrible that game.
It is really more like respect. Players like playing for Wade Phillips because life was easy then. Life isn't easy with Garrett, but the players know if you don't do things his way, you're gone. His message gets through to the team, and that is huge.
Ultimately, winning is all that matters, as you say. However, nobody would try to say that team chemistry, respect for the head coach and him getting his message across isn't important in putting together a winning team.
He gets ridiculed for trading a RB away then spending $12m AAV on two more as well as trading for Bradfrod. While you are an obvious Kelly admirere, the apple of your eye lost last year to us.
And this is a Cowboys message board. What did you expect? Even children should understand the concept.
On a final note people have beent rying to address you on the issue of personnel while you keep bleating 8-8 and waving your hands. You are ignoring points by Asthma Field and myself regarding OL and defensive talent. But by all means say 8-8 again. I missed last years offseason and am feeling testy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we resigned him this offseason, but around the NFL average is about right for him, give or take 2 spots
I am a bit of a Kelly admirer, I must admit, but only because I understand the moves he makes instead of blindly bashing them.

I wasn't being a desperate and counting that half a year. I wouldn't count that if he went 8-0 or 0-8.
You have to do more than 3 out of 4 seasons of 8-8 to be a highly ranked head coach. He's where he belongs. Middle of the pack.

You haven't been talking about his moves. You have been saying 8-8 and telling us how other fans feel. It's a common divisive trolling technique.
It only matters if it leads to wins. Right now Garrett's won more than he lost over a full season once out of 4 tries. That's not very impressive and doesn't deserve a higher ranking.

I was actually waiting for you to ask me to explain.
Let's start with McCoy. He's a very talented back who's killed us over the years. Thanksgiving is the most recent example. I've been a fan of Chip since Oregon, and I can tell you he wasn't a fan of everything McCoy did. He's a run around the defender type back who carries the ball like a loaf of bread. Chip loves physical, 1 cut type backs who have some speed to them. A RB who just does his job exactly how chip likes it.
So what did he do? Traded the guy who cost 12 mil and got a talented LB in return. Could end up being the Eagles version of Sean Lee (Injuries and all). And then he replaced Shadys big production by stealing the Cowboys running back. If we were to hit the reset button the Eagles and Cowboys rosters after the McCoy trade, how can you not tell me the Eagles got better and Cowboys got worse with the Murray switch? As for Ryan Mathews, I don't get why they needed him.
The Bradford trade makes sense to me, especially if Murray can bring stabilization to that offense, giving bradford the protection of a running game that Romo had last year.
Add Byron Maxwell to a bad secondary and you can see why Chips moves make sense. That team seems more physical than they were the past two years.
Who's to say that trade won't work out for Kelly? Bradford is a more talented QB than Nick Foles and IF he can stay healthy he may flourish under Kelly. Things weren't working out for Drew Brees in San Diego and he was let go due to injury and eventually blossomed in NO. Im not saying the same will happen with Bradford in Philly but you just never know. Jimmy looked pretty foolish with some of the moves he made when he first arrived in Dallas. He and Jerry were the butt of many jokes but they ended up getting the last laugh. Kelly has taken some gambles to bring in his type of players but what looks foolish now may end up looking brilliant in another couple of years. I would advice everyone to let things play out for awhile before coming to any conclusions.
You've clearly put a lot of thought into your team. I don't really care. You guys still lost.
Ah so you think I'm an Eagles fan. Just a mad Cowboys fan here who knows losing Murray could implode this offense if not suitably upgraded come draft time.
If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck. . . .
You seem better versed in Eagles trivia than Cowboys. It is what it is.
