Question for the Patriots haters

I hate the Commanders and they have been trash since I was born.........so no people don't just "hate" successful teams.

Everybody doesn't like cheaters though and patriots are that........take off your bias glasses its clouding your vision.
 
yeh its one thing to hate a successful franchise from being really good and still have respect for them but its another thing when that franchise has an extensive cheater resume. that's hate and no respect mixed into one. big difference.

People hate teams for lots of reasons. In the Pats' case, it's probably a combination of being a winning franchise and the allegations of cheating. Personally, I admire a lot of what they've done during the Belichick years, but it's impossible for me to separate that from the cheating and the lying. But any Pats fan who's telling himself that this sort of heat just comes with territory is trying to convince themselves that they didn't cross the lines in the first place. Or second place. Or however-many places it is at this point.

Question for the Patriots lovers: Why are you on a Cowboys site defending your team? Are you having the same discussions/arguments on the other 30 teams' sites? I have no problem with opposing fans being here to discuss

I'm not jealous of the Patriots. My rooting interest rarely ever crosses over to a team the Patriots plays & I really don't care if they win or lose.
 
I don't hate the Packers nor do I hate Seattle. Very successful teams and I admire a lot of things both organizations do.

I admire how the Packers seamlessly transition from Favre to Rodgers. I like watching Rodgers play. I like their stadium and history. I like their style of play.

I like how the Seahawks instead of cheating, found 'new' techniques to coach tackling and came up with different defensive personnel philosophy to create a successful defense. I admire how they created a system around the players to help assist them off the field and with them psychologically. I have a great admiration for Russell Wilson. I could do without some of Richard Sherman's nonsense, but I don't hate the guy.

I really don't hate the Steelers *organization* either. I get tired of their fans who are not from Pittsburgh and trying to claim that Pittsburgh doesn't have any bandwagon fans. But the organization? I don't have a problem with them.

Didn't have a problem with the Colts either, until Irsay basically drove their best player out of town and was completely ungrateful towards him. But, no problem with Chuck Pagano or Bill Polian when he was with the organization.

Usually fans dislike successful teams more because they dislike their fans. With the Patriots, their own organization from Kraft to Belichick have made the despicable to watch.

I am on a Cowboys site because I am a Cowboys fan and season ticket holder, not to mention I work within walking distance of the Cowboys new training facility in Frisco (still under construction).

I am defending the Patriots because I think they did nothing wrong here beyond getting caught doing 78 on the PGBT. Maybe there is some bias in there because I did live for a while in New England.

No I am not. I do not belong to any other team forums. However, I do belong to a sports gambling forum and I am also discussing the matter there.

We all have teams that we like and hate more than others beyond our favorite team. I tend to like AFC teams (except Pittsburgh) because they're usually the ones playing against NFC teams I hate in Super Bowls. I will always have a soft spot for Baltimore since they beat the Giants and the 49ers. I will always have a soft spot for New England because they beat Philly (even though they choked against NY twice). I will always have a soft spot for Denver because they beat Green Bay.

This is right on target. Its not just because they win a lot. They are easy to hate. Belicheat is a POS. He does not respect the game nor does he respect others who are part of the league. He's a total jerk to the mediots. Look at how he treats other HC's when he loses. He's really no better than Marshawn Lynch. Tom Cry Brady is easy to hate as well. Its not just his favored status and treatment. Like his HC, he is arrogant and smug. Always sporting that stupid smirk. He whines. He acts like a jackass on the sideline at times. Brady is a POS.

The tuck rule game is a reason to hate them. They got a trip to a Super Bowl they didnt earn or deserve.

They got caught cheating. Combine that with the other stuff and they should be hated.

Their fans. Like the HC & QB, arrogant and smug. I had Dolphins season tix for 6 yrs. The Pats fans are every bit as bad as Jets and Bills fans. They might not be trailer trash like Bills fans, but still trash. Typical NEnglanders, full of themselves. And then they have the gall to play the part of victims.

There is not ONE good reason to like or respect the Cheatriots IMO, and every reason to hate them.

You know what soft spot is? A soft spot is for a father to root for the team he hated once. My 9 year old son is a Cowboys fan and I am a Giants fan. When he was growing up, I got him an NFL sticker book. Somehow he liked the Star logo. Started asking me questions about Cowboys. I didn't think he would turn into a Cowboys fan and I answered all his questions honestly. Told him all about Cowboys. Turns out, the things I told him about Cowboys made him love Cowboys more. When he started reading well, I got him a book about NFL QB's. That's when he liked Romo. And one day, while watching a Cowboys-Giants game, he said, daddy I am Cowboys fan. I dropped the remote and said what???? He said he liked Cowboys and I had to respect that. Next year, he saw a kid at school with Romo jersey and came home. He asked me to buy him a Romo jersey. I got him a Romo jersey. And day by day, he became a bigger Cowboys fan.

And since he now cries when Cowboys lose, I have a soft spot for Cowboys. I was as upset as you guys when they called the Dez catch a non catch. Whatever. Don't get me mixed up. I want to beat Cowboys all the time but if Giants aren't in the playoffs or anything I will root for Cowboys just so my son sees a Superbowl victory.
