Question From a Commanders Fan

Well Kevin, if you still around, since you nice & polite, welcome. Fully realize when you post back on Skins forum you'll rip us but we expect that. In any case, you probably realize that much divergence of opinion on signing TO on this board. Many want him but some of us think, although he a great WR, he's a cancer & will probably end up doing to us what he did in SF & Philly (admit I enjoyed watching Philly situation). Hopefully Jones (but more like Parcells) don't bring him in. If we weren't losing so many of our vets, I'd like to see some of our leaders go to management and say no to TO--like they did in Miami or was it Atlanta.

So if TO doesn't come on board, we can hope Key comes back which allows us buy time to develop WR we pick up in on first day. If Key doesn't resign, we will look somewhere else (maybe Molds - not my choice though) or we can always slit our throats. I'm sure Commanders wins getting a chuckle over our apparent problems. But don't laugh too loud -- there could always be a bogeyman around who strikes w/o warning. Ha.

I have no intention of ripping you guys, as long as responses stay respectful. I can't stand disrespect.

However, I think you guys are missing the point of my post. I am speaking in strictly hypothetical terms. If Terrell Owens does not end up on this team and if Keyshawn Johnson does not resign, what are your expectations out of the offense. It would be naive to think that is out of the question.

Roy Williams and Brian Dawkins are both bigger hitters than Drive By.

Roy and Brian are both undoubtedly great hitters, but Sean has only just finished his second year and he's already established that his hitting ability can definitely match up again both Williams and Dawkins.

I didn't realize the Skins improved their secondary. How did that happen?

Is Adam Archuletta the upgrade? Didn't the skins cut a CB (Harris?) that was playing well during their winning streak.

I fail to see the upgrade. Maybe I'm missing something.

Cutting Harris was probably the biggest upgrade our secondary could have made. Harris had to have had one of the worst years I've ever seen by a cornerback. He made Will Allen look like Darrell Green.

However, this thread is quickly getting off-topic. I was hoping it wouldn't turn into a Commanders vs. Cowboys thread, as that can obviously not be solved by anyone but the two teams themselves...

When it comes to Keyshawn, you have to remember that HE'S ripped apart 2 teams also! You know owners aren't just going to forget about that after just 2 years with the only coach he's gotten along with so far (Parcells).

Keyshawn is still egotistical, is capable of starting problems, and thanks to the Skins will probably want much more than he's worth. He's the original locker room bomber...

I'd say you can pretty much bet safely that TO will be a Cowboy. Anyone seen TO lately, or Jerry? Nope. I don't think it's a coincidence. I also don't think it's a coincidence that we haven't blown our cap money yet. We're saving for something big. Also, why would anyone say that we weren't interested in the first place?? Get real.

Nobody is going to sign TO for a longterm deal, but look at our team, we aren't a longterm team. Like Keyshawn said, he's (and we're) a ticking timebomb, and we're either going to go all out and win in the next 2 years, or we're going to go all out and retire in the next 2 years....

PAY THE MAN!

Not saying he cant be there, just that he isnt yet

Yes he can lay people out, but a lot like Roy early on, he whiffs sometimes and goes for the big hit too often and gives up big players, like the game winning TD to Crayton 2 years ago.

That is an accurate analysis of his rookie year. This past year however he matured exponentially as a safety. Obviously his temper tendencies are still in the works, though. :)

John Clayton reported tonight that Denver is the front-runner to land TO. He said that Bledsoe did not get along with Keyshawn and that any relationship with TO could only be worse.

Michael Smith said today that he thought the best fit for TO would be Miami.

I guess we will all have to wait and see.

Since we are hypothisizing, let's reverse that. Hypothetically Moss, Randle El and Lloyd get shot in a drive by (probably Taylor) how is your offense going to be? Can you predict that? We are still in free-agency and looking forward to the draft. The only reason you ask Hypotheticals about how our offense will look is to try to rub in your FA adds and the fact that we cut Johnson. Plain and simple. Ask us the hypothetical 1 week before preseason.

Actually, I think this is exactly what you wanted.

Funny how no Skins fan had the courage to show up last year.

Now, it's like we have a bad case of head-lice.

Yes, most of us are disappointed in our offseason....yes, if we don't sign Key or TO, we're pretty much screwed....yes, if we don't get improvement from the RT position, Bledsoe will get killed.

I guess that's the answer you wanted.

If Owens is signed I can't wait to see how he fares against the Commanders bolstered secondary.

ummm......yea you signed a guy, only to replace someone who is going to jail, in my country the word "bolstered" means improved.

Already been disproven, Clayton simply made that up

Bledsoe publically said he was sad to see Key go and would love him to come back.

The answer I wanted is whatever you truly believe. I no, I didn't want a Skins vs Boys war. I'm sure there was plenty of that to go around last year during the season. I'm trying to be reasonable here, fellas, and your turning it around on me.

What's the harm in hypothetics?

1: TO >>> Anyone in Washington's secondary, including Toast and Drive By

2: There is a good chance Keyshawn resigns here regardless

1. TO has never had a big game aganist us.

2. I agree, he'll likely be a Cowboy again soon.

Well if that happened we'd be ****ed, plain and simple. My question seems slightly more likely, however.

lol we are being hard on kevin.relax:)

I don't recall Taylor ever getting trucked quite like Brian Dawkins did when he met Mike Sellars last season.
