Question From a Commanders Fan

I'm not sure how the secondary is "bolstered" for the Skins. Sure, they added Archuleta....but I'm not sure he'll be any better than Clark. On the other hand, they lost Harris so they look to lack depth at the #3 CB position.

If they don't sign T.O., they'll probably re-sign Keyshawn. The one good thing about Bledsoe is that he's proven that he can be effective without good WR's and/or a good running game. However, he needs good pass protection to be effective. If the pass protection is average or below average, he's much less effective.

Still, I don't like the depth they have here because if Glenn goes down, they could be really hurting.

With that being said, it appears that Denver and KC have no interest in him anymore and Dallas is the frontrunner.

Ought to make for some bizarre games against Philly.

And if I were bored enough to look through Commanders games, I'm sure I could find a clip where Taylor has gotten run over by someone

Or getting beat on a pedestrian play fake or pump fake.

I've never seen Roy rolling on the ground like a little girl after a big hit. You'd think such an experienced "big" hitter would know better than to lead with his helmet.

So you're saying Roy has NEVER lead with his helmet?

Hello fellow NFL Fans!

Don't be alarmed, for I come in peace! Obviously the Commanders have been making a splash in the early stages of Free Agency, which people are taking many different ways. I notice that many of you seem to think that the Commanders are in someway circumventing the Salary Cap, or blatantly ignoring it. Many Commanders fans feel the same way. The solution most Commanders fans have come to, however, is that as much as many opposing team's fans hate to admit it, the staff probably does know what they're doing. We're but feeble fans when it comes to offseason transactions.

That isn't what I came here to discuss, though. My question is about (yes, you guessed it) the Terrell Owens situation. When you guys cut Keyshawn Johnson it looked like the Terrell Owens deal was going to fall into place. Now, things don't look like they're going so smoothly. Hypothetically, if you are not able to come to terms with Owens, and he ends up in Denver or elsewhere, what are your thoughts on your potential offensive production for the upcoming season.

You'll have Bledsoe throwing to Glenn as your number one reciever (correct me if I'm wrong), and Julius Jones in the backfield? Your strongest lineman in Larry Allen is rumored to be cut. It looks to me like if the Owens deal falls through, then the Cowboys will have moved nowhere but backwards thus far in Free Agency. I came here not to troll, but rather to see if my views coincided with that of Cowboys fans.

If Owens is signed I can't wait to see how he fares against the Commanders bolstered secondary. Cowboys fan or not, I don't think any of us are Terrell Owens fans (except maybe for the way he tore apart the Eagles). I doubt any of us would mind seeing him take one in the chest from Sean Taylor. :)

Thanks for your responses!

1.) we'll re-sign Key or get Moulds, if TO isn't signed

2.) LA will restructure his contract

3.) I know you signed Archuleta, but he offers you next to nothing in coverage, so he's not going to really help you in guarding TO

As many of your board members have said about your own off-season, ours isn't over yet either. You say we "lost" Harris as if he chose to leave. We released him because he sucks. We'll sign someone soon who'll most likely be better. Rumor is we're trying to lock up Ike Taylor, but I haven't seen any confirmation on that.

Archuleta is better than Clark, who's bitten on playaction a whole lot. Taylor, in his rookie season fell for the play fake often, he only did once last season.

1) Likely will be Meshawn.

2) This is also likely.

3) ST helped in coverage on TO, not Ryan Clark. In our system, the safeties are interchangeable.

Everyone in the NFL knows that you are the next SuperBowl winners...

The Cowboys suck, the Eagles suck, and the Giants suck....the Commanders are the creme of the crop! Your team is so far ahead of everyone else in the NFL that it's useless to even discuss these matters!

Enjoy your SuperBowl this coming season!

This is the most reasonable post I've read here in a long time!

Congrats on your escape from the darkside. ;)

yet dude said the secondary was bolstered, it wasn't if you're talking about defending against TO

I can't speak on his comments. All I know is if we face TO again, he'll seeing Shawn Springs and 2/3's of the time, Sean Taylor.

Off the top of my head Taylor was fooled against Dallas on a flee flicker and another play fake in the first game.

Against Seattle in the playoff game he was fooled on a pump action by Hasselbeck to Darrell Jackson.

He gets fooled quite a bit on those.

In the Seattle game, that was Ryan Clark and not Taylor. I know the exact play you are talking about, because Clark nearly made a play on the ball but it was caught behind him.

It always amuses me when fans from other teams are interested in another teams forum! We will be fine with or without TO. Remeber, the Cowboys still have draft picks, unlike the skinns. In any event, I'm really interested to see what outfit Portis wears at the first press conference next year. I like Jerome from Southeast :D

On our offensive production, I believe as long as Bledsoe is our starter, it really doesn't matter what we do in free agency on the Ol or the WR. I absolutely love your qb situation and hate ours. I understand how Joe Gibbs thinks and feel confident he'll get you turned around. I don't understand the thinking of Parcells and I don't think anybody else does either. I'm what they call, a Darksider, by that I mean I look at the negatives for my team and try to figure out how the other team can exploit our weaknesses and I see plenty of them. The criticism here is that the Skins have over-paid for average Joes, but your average Joes are young(Moss,Randle El,Brandon Lloyd) and are proven players,as well as Portis(not average). Brunell is solid and Campbell will be good,if not great. Contrast that to Bledsoe(underachiever),Glenn(size and age) and no backup qb's worth mentioning, I definitely give you guys the edge. I just hope that Parcells has some master plan that none of us are privy to and will revive his status as a coaching genius, cause right now, he looks like a candidate for a retirement home.

I have no intention of ripping you guys, as long as responses stay respectful. I can't stand disrespect.

However, I think you guys are missing the point of my post. I am speaking in strictly hypothetical terms. If Terrell Owens does not end up on this team and if Keyshawn Johnson does not resign, what are your expectations out of the offense. It would be naive to think that is out of the question.

Bleak, unless we can wrangle Javon Walker away from the Packers as a third option.

Clinton Portis' little characters are perhaps one of the most ignorant and intellectually offensive things I have ever seen a football player do.
