Ellis???
Are you really thinking that the loss of a player playing a new position was that big of a loss?
We beat Indianapolis without Ellis.
We went to the NYGs and beat them too without Ellis.
Then Sean Payton exposed the defense and it was downhill from there on.
We let Ron Mexico throw for a career high 4 TDs!
The 2-13 Lions came into our house and hung 39 on us,and then talked about it.The Lions!
Still think Ellis could have changed that?
How about a coach who refused to get out of the basic 3-4 when the situation dictated to do so?
Why is our best pass rusher going down on coverage?
Still think Ellis could have helped?
We have talent on this team.
But it's being held back by a mentality that suggest not making mistakes is more important than making a play.

Ellis was a great player but most importantly a team leader. They say the game is mostly mental. I think he was a big part of the meltdown. If you think im wrong........ok..........but im not changing your mind and your not changing mine

You completely missed the point. Romo shouldn't have had to hold onto that ball at the end of the game to see if the Cowboys won or lost (which there is a good chance they still lose even if he does hold on). The game should have been out of reach for Seattle by that time. The game should not have been close.

So not only do you expect to win the superbowl every year but you also expect to win every game in a blow out. God that would be nice.

The game should have been out of reach because of the scrubs they played in their secondary. We diddnt test them deep at all, thats an indictment on the coaching staff.

I can't change your mind because you refuse to see what is painfully obvious.

What's painfully obvious is how much better the defense was with Ellis. The stats show a significant difference, but if you go back and look at the film, the defense changed considerably without Ellis. Perhaps the worst of it all was that it forced Carpenter to be moved back outside (perhaps permanently) when he would be better served at ILB in place of James.

No, not every game. But with the talent the Cowboys have, playing an average team to begin with that was extremely weak in an area going against the Cowboys strongest area. There is no reason to lose that game, certainly not because of a play or 2. The team wasn't prepared to take advantages of their own strengths, and the opponents weaknesses. Poor coaching. Even if they win the game by 2, it was still bad coaching.

And if you claim Ellis is the reason for the defenses demise, then that's another example of poor coaching. Good coaching isn't going to let one solid player missing some games completely ruin the season. Plenty of other teams (including Seattle) had to deal with far more injuries, some far more significant, and they were able to keep going. If one solid LB who is still learning the position causes a defense to go from top 5, to the worst defense in the NFL down the stretch, then their is an abundance of bad coaching. Their best defensive game was without Ellis too.

Witten turned the ball over, Glenn turned one over for a fumble, and romo droped the ball...........that is why we lost the game.

Don't forget Bradie James. And Jason Ferguson. And Roy Williams.

No, we lost because we diddnt think of testing their nickle corner, a strong safety playing as corner and a loan officer playing as corner.

It was coaching that caused Romo to drop the ball!

It was coaching as to why we were not up by 3 scores at the time, with Seattles depleted secondary and us having 2 1,000 yards recievers and an often chosen pro-bowl TE,

What's it going to be then, eh?

:lmao2:

Romo should never have had to flub that.

We should have beaten them by 21 points.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that maybe, just maybe, Romo didn't play all that well?

And spare me the statistical garbage. He didn't play his best game, just as he hadn't for nearly a month.

The whole team failed, not just the coaching staff, not just Romo.

And you know this--how exactly?
It's called old man's intuition.....and from quotes we have seen the past few week seem to substantiate that intuition.

Zimmer hadn't a clue about this defense and honestly, I wouldn't give matches to a child either, no matter how much I liked them.

I will not argue this point as I feel the same.

That's what keeps me positive right now. I hope he will add a coordinator with a clue and then feel secure he can step back. If he promotes from within, the hand-holding will continue. I shall wait for the development before passing judgment.

I would love to feel positive if Parcells returns....I can't

The last few weeks of the season there was a glaring problem on D.

Why wasn't it fixed????? Isn't it the HC's job to step in and do something?

The Giants, HC Coughlin dumped Hufnagel and bought in Kevin Gilbride.

Billick fires Fassel.

Whether Parcells knew how to fix the problem is very suspect to me.... that's what JJ spends 6 mil a year for. The truth is Parcells did absolutely nothin...........probably because he had no clue how to fix it.

It's his D scheme........he made the bed ....and he ended up sleeping in it.

Being a playoff team (which is what our record was) is something to be ashamed of? The ridiculous things said on this board are well...ridiculous.

What?
Those who live in the past are those still thinking that Parcells can take this team anywhere based on his PAST.
Exclude me from that group as I have seen more than enough to be convinced otherwise.
