again the trend of the day continues to take a singular event as if he typifies the whole.

we're playoff losers twice in 4 years. 16-16 (6-10, 10-6 edit to fix standings) the other two years and a draft that gave us 2 1st round picks after our 6-10 year.

we're .504 after 4 years.

we're better than 5-11 but not good enough to be serious contenders in the playoffs for phantom reasons that are either all parcells or not parcells at all.

we possibly found our long term qb - the real bonus out of all this so far.

we've got a coach who must examine life every year to find the strength to go on. that causes drama of people who hate that and people who don't care or see it as an issue/a distraction for the team. but it's a distraction just the same.

we're good enough to where some of our ex's make it to another team whereas they just go sell insurance for a few years THEN play a game against us in a playoff game.

we're an awful lot of things that all add up to .504 and an iffy immediate future.

The recent past should be enough to tell you this team can go forward. First, this team is much more talented than it was last year. Then there's the fact that last year's team is much more talented than it was the years before. This team is improving from year to year.

There were idiots complaining last season about Parcells' offenses being too conservative. Why was it conservative? Because of the personnel. Parcells is clearly willing to adjust when the players and coaches allow it. Maybe the defense will become less conservative without Zimmer.

Everybody on this board seems to want to get rid of Bill. Why is That? We made the playoffs and only lost in the wildcard round because of a fluke play. If Romo holds onto the ball we may be playing today and you are all pumped about Bill, TO, Roy, and everyone else on the team. I'm tired of all the knee jerk reactions when we should look at the big picture and here it is. We made the playoffs this year..........we didn't go far but that says progress. We arn't loosing much this year and all those guys that are on the D line are entering their 3rd year and should start producing even though you all wanted them to produce as rookies. We have a QB that was brilliant in his first year as a starter and will be better next year. Our O line was questionable this year but also will gain experience.
Winning the Championship is a hard thing to do. You all make it sound so easy because all we have to do is get new people. Well who do you want as replacements. We cant just go out and get all the best players, the Commanders did that and look at where they finished.
I beg you to lay off the fire this guy and fire that guy stuff because we made progress this year. We finished 9-7 this year but we also played in a strong divison. You have to be happy with this year. We found a QB that looks to be our franchies player. We arn't going to win the super bowl every year. We have to build up to it. It will happen again soon if we keep on the track we are on. And to all you nay sayers look at it like this.......at least your not a Commander fan.

It isn't anything close to living in the past.

That is what people pining away for Jimmy Johnson do.

Despite all the horror and "mediocrity" we were still two games and a muffed FG attempt away from the Super Bowl.

That's living in the now. Provided we get a solid defensive coordinator and patch some holes, we can easily put ourselves in excellent position.
