This is the team that gave up two 1sts for Roy Williams. Their evaluation of WR's and their value, except for one lucky shot at Owens, is suspect. The last thing I want these people doing is taking a WR in the 1st.
Could it also be argued that the decisions are being made by different people? Or maybe just different influences around the decision makers?

I chalk up his rookie season to opposing defenses having no film on him or time to figure out what his weaknesses are in the pocket. The second year is more telling b/c DC's have caught up and dissected his game for an off season. The teams that put this offense in neutral are the ones who can man-up on the wrs and clog the middle of the field where he feasted as a rookie. It is now on Dak to adapt and make defenses pay for their overcommittment to the short field. The open question is can he make the throws? Even when we had all hands on deck last year, the offense wasn't pretty. Zeke had one long run all year and was grinding out 4 YPC the rest of the season. Dak's has to throw the ball a lot better or Zeke is going to have another rough year.

Dak had no problems at all until the Oline and the run game fell apart. First 8 games he was on track for a better year then his rookie year.

Dunno...all I DO know is I'm not throwing in the towel NOW...not after 45 years of being a fan. I remain optimistic.

Throw it what towel? the team is what it is whether you have optimism or not. Much depends on the moves they make going forward. Signing the Tackle from NE would be a solid move. But if we have Dez and Williams as still our #1 and #2 I dont see how signing Hurns will have much of an impact.

Be the first to say yes, I owe them one.Think frustration got the best of us ...........It's not how you start, how you finish. So to Stephen, Jerry, and McClay .........job well done.
Several middling signings do not altar 21 years if futility.
The FO, like any FO, will get an apology and due credit, when it wins a Super Bowl.

Lol, Apology? This team has basically done nothing over the last 20+ years. Even if they got Seattle to take a 7th rounder for Earl Thomas I wouldn't feel the need for an apology

So........ With the late reveal on the TWill news, we learn that our front office was actually being less proactive and more reactive.....

Should we still be on our knees kissing their feet? Just curious.

On the contrary...they owe me one. There was no need to have security escort me out the facilities like that. I can find the exist just fine on my own.

Stephen said point blank that the reason Watkins chose KC over Dallas was not money. So, we can infer pretty reasonably that we offered Watkins something in the 16 million per range. Watkins just liked the offensive situation in KC better.

thank god that Watkins chose KC. Paying him 16 million is about as stupid as paying Dez. Amazing how after seeing their error with Dez they were going to turn around and do it again. Just goes to show how absolutely brainless the FO is when it comes to both talent and managing the cap.

Brainless in YOUR eyes. While I'm dissatisfied with the team through much of the last two decades, I personally don't think it's wise to be too judgemental about someone who's better at it than I am. Do you actually think you could do a better job?

Still not the most reliable source. He could be trying to save face. They have lowballed everyone to this point...i'd be shocked if Watkins wasn't lowballed as well.

Saving face ? His explanation for why Watkins chose KC is even more embarrassing. If it wasn't money, how is something else less embarrassing?

Doesn't get more credible than Stephen Jones. He's not exactly known as a fibber like his daddy.

It's not embarsssing if the guy didn't want to play here. It is embarsssing if you brought a 1 year 12 million dollar deal to the situation though. He'd never admit that.

I want no apology. I just want a real gm who will hire a young, innovative hc and let the hc hire his own staff. We have enough good players to have done better, but for the lousy coaching staff.

Shoot....they owe me for all the heart ache, disastrous thanksgiving dinners, and sad winters they have provided me in the last 20 years.

One off season doesn't erase that, but I'm hopefully these moves will lead to great things!

I'll apologize to them after they apologize to me for their measly two playoff wins in 21 years.
Exactly! The FO should apologize to the entire fan base for fielding inferior teams for the last 20 years. They take the fans for granted and they know that the fans remains loyal even with bad teams to support.

Nope. They finally signed a few castoffs which is what we all knew they would do anyway. This group could end up being no better than last years. You can call them upgrades if you want but these signings are not closing any gap between the Cowboys and the top teams.

These upgrades would be Major if Romo was still playing

To be honest the front office owes Romo and Demarcus Ware apologies for wasting their talented careers. At least Ware got outta here in time to get a ring but Tony had the misfortune of having Garrett involved in his career. Yeah Tony got payed plenty but he also sacrificed his body plenty.
