Rate the last movie you saw

The Road was definitely bleak, but I can't say I cared for it much at all. I couldn't stand the kid and it was pretty dull.

Scott Pilgrem vs. The World - 7/10. Not great, not bad. I love the video game style that is used, and the action was surprisingly well done. The humor is also pretty good at times. The problems lie with the story, which there isn't much of one. While I liked what was on the screen most of the time, in the end, I really didn't care what happened.

Expendables - 7 /10 - I thought it was pretty good. About what you would expect from a bunch of over the hill action heroes who cant act. Lots of stuff being blown up, a few funny one liners mixed with some cheesy ones. Over all worth the price of admission.

One thing I hate is how they do fight scenes now a days, it is way too fragmented for my liking. You almost get motion sickness from the movement, plus the scenes are moving so quickly you cant tell who is hitting who.

The Expendables - 8/10

If you're wanting to leave your critical mind at the door and ready for a fun, exciting 100 minute ride, look no further. This movie did not let up.

Stallone had all the action fans in mind with this one. The last 20 minutes alone are worth multiple viewings. Loved it. Had a great time.

expendables- 10/10-action scenes 2/10 everything else

over all its a pretty terrible movie but i enjoyed it because im an action fan. never ever have your girl watch this if you want her to give action movies a chance again. 6/10 for me

men who stare at goats- 5/10 i found it somewhat funny in a wth kind of way but it lagged in parts

youth in revolt- 7/10 i like micheal cera idc what people think, he is funny. yeah he can only play one character but really how many characters can a 135 pound geeky guy play? i find awkward humor funny so i liked it

The Other Guys 9/10. So funny! The Lion vs Tuna was the best.

I agree Roadhouse from the early 90s had the best fight scenes , they kept it simple and they made it one of the best for fight scenes in my opinion

the girl with the dragon tattoo

9.5/10

this is a swedish movie that is very popular in europe. there's going to be an american version coming out next year.

it's pretty well-acted & the story is pretty interesting. did have a few disturbing moments though.

The Switch -- 7/10.

Good, underrated movie, starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. The screenplay was excellent .... great dialogue. Good story. I really liked it. The little boy stole the show.

and I'm sure there are others. I'd say this is the longest running thread in the OT zone, tho.

That said, I saw Expendables. Loved it. Mindless entertainment, FTW.

You're underselling there.

"Few disturbing scenes" undersells the main point of the movie, which was about pretty disturbing stuff altogether.

Loved the movie though.

The Other Guys- 8.5/10

I went in, expecting typical Will Ferrell comedy...and got everything I expected! Funny movie!

I also saw Dinner for Schmucks a while back. 7/10
It was funnier than I expected.

...last night and I thought it was good if not better that 'dragon tattoo'. And yes, 'dragon tattoo' has some very graphic scenes in it and those will of course be toned-down in the American remake. Looking forward to the third installment of this series coming out in the fall, I believe.

Just saw 'A Prophet' on DVD: It was ok. A bit long.

'The Ghost Writer' is next on my viewing agenda...

I'm contemplating which way I want to go about seeing The Ghost Writer without paying for it, because I can't very well support it.

i loved it too. there were a few scenes though that were more disturbing then most. other then that, it mostly kept me on the edge of my seat.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World: 9/10

Absolutely great movie. If you grew up in the Nintendo generation, you'll be right at home. It's just so cleverly done, the whole thing was a fun ride.

The Other Guys: 2/10

I think I've officially had enough of Will Ferrell. So much of the humor was just plain stupid, but even that I can forgive because there were a few chuckles here and there but the movie was just boring. I fell asleep twice watching it, so maybe I missed the part that was so great people are giving it good reviews but the whole thing was just so silly.

I definately felt misled by the trailers too, I don't want to ruin it but if you think this is a super cops vs desk jockey type of movie, it's not.

At the end of the movie they also show all these stats about the recession and ceo vs average wage that made zero damn sense, this wasn't some economic documentary, why do you need all the pie charts and bar graphs?

It would have been great if only the story wasn't weak and the relationship between the main characters wasn't completely empty.

The game stuff was awesome though. And the action was pretty damn good.
