Captain America -- 6/10

Cheesy as hell. But still mildly entertaining. Worthwhile if you're bored, but I wouldn't seek out the movie.
I'd give it the same rating. Very cheesy, like most comic book movies though. The hydra soldiers were comically bad. But it had some decent action.

Saw it in 3D, which I wasn't expecting. Parts of it were very good in 3D. But 3D makes it much easier to notice fake backgrounds in the sets. It makes it feel less real in spots, the opposite of what they're going for with 3D.

Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows 2 - 7/10

Not nearly as good as advertised, but entertaining. The Deathly Hallows book was much, much better.

They have Moby Dick on encore Monday and Tuesday night. It was a two parter at 90 minutes for each part.

I did not think it was all that great.

I would have to imagine it was nowhere as good as the book.

Just seemed kind of slow.

Couple of scenes were pretty cool but other than that just kind of slow.

I rented a movie by that title a few years back. Curiously, no whale in it.

Was it about a gay techno guy?

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 9/10

First of all, James Franco is easily the most overrated actor in Hollywood today. He gives the worst performance in the movie, Apes included.

And even with that, the movie is great. I am very stoked for the inevitable sequels. Easy to have conflicted emotions on who to root for, humans or apes but there aren't a lot of humans worth saving in this one.

No idea why he's rated highly. He's always been a terrible actor.

I'm truly surprised by the good reviews for Apes.

He was very good in 127 Hours. Outside of that though, I can't think of anything that wasn't pretty generic work. Though, I didn't think he was that highly rated outside of 127 Hours either.

Just got back from Rise of the planet of the apes. Great movie. As said earlier I can't wait for the sequel. Loved the homage to Charleton Heston. And proud to say I was one of the few in the audience who didnt get fooled at the end and start to leave early. LOL.

I concur with this rating.

I disagree with this. There wasn't anything bad about his acting.

I agree Sultan. I thought he did a fine job in Apes. The whole movie was terrific.

Maybe it's just the way he delivers his lines, I can never get the emotion he's trying to convey.

He was good in 127 Hours and he was good in Pineapple Express, it's usually only when he's asked to deliver dramatic lines that I have a major issue with him.

For what it's worth, my wife thought he was great in Apes.
