Fantastic Mr. Fox - 9/10

Very good movie. Funny, unique and quirky. Watched it with my fiance and we both chuckles pretty much through the whole thing. The voice acting is great, and the plot plays along like a children's story (which it is) but has plenty for adults.

Shaun of the Dead is overrated. Zombieland is easily it's equal and so much more.

Zombieland wasn't all that great, I was expecting it to be much better than it was, and I already gave it a bonus because I generally like zombie movies. The best part of the entire thing was the Bill Murray cameo.

I haven't watched Zombieland yet so i will reserve judgment but IMO Shaun of the Dead is underrated if its anything else.
Don't listen to anything he says. Honestly, I've never come across someone who has such opposite views of myself.

Zombieland is good. But it's not as good as SOTD.

taken started out good to me then about 1/2 way through it, it just went too far for me to suspend disbelief. i can only go so far before the storyline gets hokey.

for surrogates - that took me a bit to get into and while i can say nothing overly special about the movie, the idea was great.

Yeah, Taken got a bit ridiculous.

Dexter Season 4.
9/10

Dexter is probably the best series going that I am watching at the moment.

The only reason I gave it a 9 is because I hated the way it ended and I think at the conclusion of every season at least one character (similar to Sgt. Dokes) should have strong suspicions about who Dexter is.

Season 4 of Dexter blew the last season away.

Zombieland-----------7/10

It was entertaining and had some funny parts. I agree that Bill Murray's cameo was nice. But its not even close to being as good as Shaun of the Dead.

That's what I've been wondering ever since I saw it. It had a few funny moments, but overall it just wasn't that great. Zombieland was much funnier throughout the entire film.

Same thing with Hot Fuzz, a few great funny scenes, the rest, just kinda meh. Two of the most overrated "comedies" in recent years.

Avatar 6/10

I'm baffled that Avatar was nominated for best picture. Visually, the movie is spectacular, breathtaking, and any other superlative you want to attach to it. It also held my interest (more or less) for the entire two and half hours. But I fail to see what it offers beyond eye candy and indoctrination into the Hollywood worldview. The plot was hackneyed, and the characters were cookie-cutter.
