Rate the last movie you saw

I watched "Gamer" last night with low expectations. It did not disappoint (the low expectations).

Kick-*** - 8/10 It sort of kicked ***. A few slow parts here and there, mostly with the Red Mist character. The last 35 minutes were pretty bad ***.

Atonement 7/10 - I don't find whatshernuts to be particularly attractive. Too damn skinny. If she had some meat on her I'd probably have given the movie a 8/10.....silly reasoning, I know. The last fifteen minutes of the movie saves it.

Men Who Stare at Goats - 6/10 - I was disappointed. Looked forward to it, but found it pretty lacking.

Both were better as books, Men Who Stare at Goats was actually a really funny read.

Last movie I saw was” Peeping at Erin Andrews”, very short movie but very revealing. I give it 3 thumbs up. :laugh2:

deliver us from evil....a tremendous documentary.

I will just keep my opinions to myself though because the topic is a no no. will just say it left me shocked and angry.

Just read the synopsis of this on imdb.com and it looks extremely interesting.

I will put it on my list of documentaries to watch.

W. - 5/10

The Bush movie......couldve been handled better. Oliver Stone wasnt the man to do this, he could have made a good movie and let people decide what to think of Bush w/o having him look like a slob chewing w/ his mouth open, and picking his mouth in a meeting. A lot of it felt like a SNL sketch

sounds like the documentary version of doubt

ninja assassin-7/10

plays out like a video game main character might as well have a blinking red health bar half the movie but i expected ninja fight scenes blood and more fighting and the movie didn't disappoint in that regard so it gets a 7

oh and lol@ ninja parkour

The Hurt Locker

I recommend seeing it. It's really good.

I'm about to watch it right now...

Step Brothers 2 - 9/10

They are in talks to make it, probably after Anchorman 2

The Hurt Locker 9/10

Very good movie. It was tedious and meandering in certain spots, but definitely deserving of its best picture award.

An Education 9/10

Another best picture nominee. My wife rented it, and to be perfectly honest, I didn't want to see it. But I actually enjoyed it more than The Hurt Locker and every other best picture nominee outside of District 9.

Thus far, District 9 is my pick for 2009 best picture, and An Education is a close and solid second. I still have no idea how or why Avatar was included in that mix.

My only issue with An Education was that the age difference was a little off-putting. I'm not sure what age Sarsgaard is intended to be in the movie, but obviously he's well into his 30s. And yet he's supposed to be swooning a 16 year old?

I agree with you. And, in my opinion, believability was a problem with other aspects of the narrative as well. Her parents, for instance, were far too accepting of Sarsgaard's character. Obviously, he was a master manipulator and the parents lived a sheltered existence, but their unwillingness to question anything he said or did was borderline absurd. Their gullibility went to a level that flirted with almost complete ignorance of the world.
