This Is England -- 4.5/10

Kind of a ****ed up movie that literally went nowhere. A Poor Man's, Romper Stomper.

My wife brought home a couple supposedly scary movies the other night so I watched them.

Sorority Row - 2 out of 10:

Now granted I had zero expectations for this movie going in cause I could tell by the name that it was going to be very stupid but it actually surprised me at how awful and stupid it really was. It's one of those very rare cases where the people in the movie that you're supposed to be wanting to see live are actually people I'm hoping all die and don't live.

The 'twist' ending was unbelievably stupid and only further drove the nail in the coffin of this being one of the dumbest horror movies I've ever watched.

The Collector - 5 out of 10:

For a horror movie this one wasn't too bad. I liked the idea behind the movie, for the most part, as it was a little different take by using a bad guy to make him a good guy to face off against a really bad guy.

I think I might have liked it better except that it was from the same writers as the folks who wrote Saw 4, 5 and 6 and while I'm a big fan of the Saw series what I didn't like was how there seemed to be too much of the elements of Saw in this movie with some of the house hold traps put around the house to keep anyone in it from getting out.

It could have been a lot worse but it could have been a whole lot better and the ending was pretty predictable which is always a let down.

Watched White Out last, thought it was ok nothing special. 6.5 / 10

Kate gets a 11/10 on the "hubba hubba" scale though. She so purrrdy :)

I caught "Wanted" last night on Cinemax. Angelina Jolie certainly helped the visuals, but I found it pretty disappoinitng. Maybe 4 out of 10.

:laugh2:

I watched about 10 minutes of it on Starz last night, the part where the rats are used as bombs. After the butcher got shot in the chest with the sword and then the sword was kicked further into his chest, I had to turn it off.

The whole point behind that movie was the guy being finally able to curve the bullet.
BTW I'm tired of seeing Morgan Freeman's wrinkled *** on screen

Wanted was awesome. Great over the top extreme violence, and great dark humor.

That movie looks terrible from the previews.

Saw an advanced screening of Repo Men by mistake last night - 6.5/10. Not nearly as overhanded with the healthcare message as I thought it was going to be, but it is still there. I loved the absolute brutality of the violence (If you're going to be violent, then damnit be violent).

Overall the story was pretty predictible, though the ending was a nice twist that in hindsite I probably should have sen coming.

But he did sort of have special powers.

Though I think it's a bit ridiculous to harp on the movie because it's not realistic because it's not really meant to be.
