My wife brought home a couple supposedly scary movies the other night so I watched them.
Sorority Row - 2 out of 10:
Now granted I had zero expectations for this movie going in cause I could tell by the name that it was going to be very stupid but it actually surprised me at how awful and stupid it really was. It's one of those very rare cases where the people in the movie that you're supposed to be wanting to see live are actually people I'm hoping all die and don't live.
The 'twist' ending was unbelievably stupid and only further drove the nail in the coffin of this being one of the dumbest horror movies I've ever watched.
The Collector - 5 out of 10:
For a horror movie this one wasn't too bad. I liked the idea behind the movie, for the most part, as it was a little different take by using a bad guy to make him a good guy to face off against a really bad guy.
I think I might have liked it better except that it was from the same writers as the folks who wrote Saw 4, 5 and 6 and while I'm a big fan of the Saw series what I didn't like was how there seemed to be too much of the elements of Saw in this movie with some of the house hold traps put around the house to keep anyone in it from getting out.
It could have been a lot worse but it could have been a whole lot better and the ending was pretty predictable which is always a let down.
