avatar reminded me of "surrogates" w/bruce willis. but since both were out around the same time it's just a recycled idea i suppose.

in all - it was ok but i'm really tired of "man = bad" movies.

Hollywood is still trying to make amends for "Dude, Where's my Car?"

Capitalism: A Love Story - 0/10

What a load of crap. I had to turn off this drivel after 50 minutes, I couldn't take the BS anymore.

Losers

5/10 I wasnt expecting much going into it and that was about what it delivered. They couldnt decide if it was suppose to be a comedy or action flick, in the end it really wasnt either one.

No, tomson. I'm afraid of you. Really.

You should be. Along with the other "men" on this forum whose hips are wider than their shoulders....

When I get back in to MD i'm going to hunt you down and spank you in front of your ugly *** family. Screech.

You Don't Know Jack.Al Pacino plays Jack Kevorkian.I wasn't
really expecting much but damn, what a performance. This movie
is very good.He is certainly a controversial figure,so different views
are understandable.

Not a movie rating, but Avatar related: I've seen the movie displayed at several stores and quite a few HD sets and while it is extremely crisp and vivid, the HD picture really shows how awful some of the CG really is. It's especially worse on 240 Hz sets where some scenes would have looked poor 5 years ago on a video game.

Good info to know, that 55" LED mounted over my mantle is still looking for a real challenge to take on!

Avatar - 6/10

Pretty boring. A lot of the dialogue was like "Tell Kiasa that if Moaba doesnt go to Kwase for help then Masha will die".

And that jacked Marine was such a ridiculous character. Im surprised the didnt show him kicking puppies

Sicko
8/10

I thought his documentary was excellent but I wish he would have dedicated a portion of the movie to the percentage of taxes citizens of other countries with universal healthcare are paying.

Overall, very excellent.

Isn't 120/240hz motion blur technology via faster refresh rates? How would that have any effect on revealing flaws in CG animation and effects?

It could actually be that the fact that you're using a 240hz TV is what's degrading the quality of the film. I usually turn off all the fancy stuff on my TV when watching movies. I have a 120hz TV and when you turn the effect up it makes people look like they are almost separate from background, and not in a good way.

Yes, the higher rates on newer TVs have always looked funny to me, I'm not sure if I like the look or not. While on one hand it looks more 3 dimensional or more lifelike in that the people seem more like they are really right there in front of you, it also looks somewhat cheap like a handheld camera was used.

It isn't just those TVs though, it's on others as well, but it is just magnified on those other TVs. Again some scenes are far worse than others.

On a side note: I saw A Nightmare on Elm Street Wednesday and to nobody's surprise it pretty much sucks. I actually like the new Freddy better than the original as he isn't portrayed to be as jovial as the original. He comes off more menacing, but still manages to keep his wit. Every frame without him is pure garbage. 4/10

Are you talking about that older guy? I liked his character, and I liked the movie.

9/10

His character was insane. Taking glee in all the destruction and what-not. It was cliche and took me out of it.

Zach and Miri Make a Porno- 7/10- Typical Kevin Smith movie, not a ton of laughs but good dialogue and very watchable
