Eye of the needle. I thought the book was so so, same for the movie. Not one of better Ken Follett books
Fly Boys. Lesser known movie that I like. Young American men join the French during WWI before the USA enters the war. The young men fly Bi-Planes with the French against the Germans.
Critical Condition... Cheesy 80s comedy with Richard Pryor trapped in a hospital pretending to be a doctor. If you like Pryor you will like this one although is not the Toy or one of his movies with Gene Wilder
I thought the CGI was inconsistent. At times it looked great and then at some points it looked pretty bad.
I heard a good portion of the movie was cut for the final release. I wonder if some of the missing pieces would have better developed the story and plot. Perhaps a director's cut will be released on blu-ray at some point.
I thought it was a good movie, but it wasn't great.
I've heard that there was about 40 minutes of what Whedon actually filmed that was cut from the film. And there were also a few disagreements between the director and the studio. While both sides will deny it, I can't help but feel that the differences led to Whedon deciding not to direct Infinity War Parts I and II.
And I very much hope that we will get to see the unedited Director's Cut when the film is released on blu-ray.
Read something about that. Said he wanted some scenes left in and some out, the company wanted some scenes in and others out so they worked out a deal that he could leave one of the scenes in IF he left one they wanted in so they decided to go that route.
Seems weird but I imagine that happens in movies quite a bit.
You should look up the video or audio of Kevin Smith talking about a Hollywood Producer or Director (can't remember the guys name) trying to push a Giant Spider in the movie. This was when one of the companies was having Kevin write a Superman script (his never was approved). And he was trying to figure out why Superman would be fighting a giant spider in the film.
He said apparently the guy would try to push the giant spider fight on other writers for various movies even if it did not really fit what the movie was. He said later the guy finally got his giant spider scene in a movie and it was the Will Smith Wild Wild West movie where the giant mechanical spider really did not fit in but it was put in there anyway.
Went on a bit of a movie binge last night.
- Whiplash - 9/10. Just one or two pace things I didn't like, otherwise, flawless movie. What a great ending.
- The Imitation Game - 6/10 - good tone and all, but ultimately it had too many tropes for me to enjoy it fully.
- Nightcrawler 7.5/10 - Enjoyable movie. A little ham fisted in some ways but Gyllenhaal pulls of sociopath a little too well.
Ex Machina: 8/10 - I went into this one blind and was thrilled with the amount of tension this film created in limited sets. It was a very pleasant surprise.
Night crawler. Was he sociopath or just very, very good at his job? Lol
Thanks. I have to see it. Didn't look into too much.
just so Mad Max...holy jesus this was a great action flick 9/10 and it will probably be the best blockbuster of the summer.
Focus: 5/10. Decent acting by Will Smith, but just a terrible movie overall.
I'm so confused, 5/10 is terrible????
Was 50% a good score on a test in grade school?
