I watched Apocalypto on Amazon Prime. It's from 2006, interesting, intense and twisted. Historical fiction centered around the Mayans and Chichen Itza. Even though it's over 2 hours it goes quick. You do have to deal with sub titles since they didn't speak English. I know that's the movie watchers kryptonite lol but still worth the watch if you haven't seen it. 8 out of 10.

Mel Gibson directed, IIRC. Very intense movie, with some disturbing scenes.

i watched Joker last night. It was probably the most dark movie I have ever seen. I did not like the movie that much but I thought Phoenix was outstanding as an actor. He deserved the Oscar. It was probably one of the best jobs as an actor I have ever seen. He gets a 10 out of 10 for his work but the movie got maybe 5 out of 10. No happy ending or feel good moments with Joker.

Been meaning to watch it for a long time. Didn't realize it was available on prime. It was definitely disturbing!! Life at that time was pretty horrific.

Most dark? Try Vulgar if you can find it.....nightmares for days.

I watched Rocketman on Amazon prime. It wasn’t at all what I expected but I thought it was very good overall. Taron Edgerton did a great job as Elton John and sang the songs himself I believe. And it was great to see that the source character was heavily involved and that he came through it well.

I’d give it an 8/10.

I thought Taron did better than Ramik.

Interestingly, he already played a character singing Elton John in the animated Sing.

I thought about checking it out but I hadn't heard anything from anyone. I'll give it a look, thanks!

Just tried to watch it. By the time they started the Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting number, I'd had enough. I'm not one for musicals.

Yeah, then it's not for you. There are several numbers like that, especially given the input from the film's subject.

Try "Mama Mia", you will be in a homicidal rage halfway through it, they sing everything and when they're speaking instead of singing, you'll wish they were singing again. Hell, for me, is that on a loop. The aholes made a 2nd one!!!!!!!!! There were no songs left!!!! They were down to songs they sang in the shower.

And that damned Hugh Jackman, used to like him. Wolverine wears lace panties.

The Lincoln Lawyer 8.2/10

A Matthew McConaughey flick based on a book about a criminal defense attorney. Very solid IMO and John Grishamesque if you like his movies or books (but he didn’t write this one).

Knives out....solid 7.5-8
Good whodunit murder mystery..nice plot twists
Only downside...Daniel Craig trying to pull off a Kentucky accent...

It got a 5 as a Meta score!
lol
I'm gonna have to watch.
Is that 'Meta' as in Metacritic.com?

Generally, Joker is one of those films that fare worse with paid critics than overall movie audiences.

agree
Not a fan of musicals except Chicago because of Catherine Zeta-Jones
Les Miserables was very good too

the rest, Meh

Come to Daddy - one of those bizarre type movies that you could turn off at any time but for reason have to finish it to see where it goes. If you have watched it or ever do watch it... What is with the hunchback.

Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. nope, no exceptions. Just the fact you've suggested any will allow us to search all of your devices for any show tunes and I just hope for your sake we don't find any. Even "Oklahoma" on your phone in Oklahoma can get you 10-20 in Man Prison. It's run by Women of Taste with Lifetime and Hallmark the only channels allowed and "Feelings" over the PA system 24/7. I do have connections and will see if I can get you in the baby formula factory and keep you out of the tampon factory.

The only musical of cinematic value is, South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut

I also appreciate The Greatest Showman, merely because it sounds extraordinary in a proper home theater. Great acoustics, nothing more.
