Rate the last movie you saw

I think they were going to make a third part to it, but I don't think the second one did as well as expected so not sure if they are still doing a third part
They certainly ended unresolved. I'd prefer they leave it that way, rather than doing a cheap, half***ed ending.

There may not be tears in hell but there is plenty of crap in this film.
Nothing like wasting time watching a guy with no money for food yet smoking a cig every couple of minutes. Terrible writing and acting.

I gave it about 40 minutes and that was about 20 minutes too long.
Skip this one.

Silly like the one before it. Just gotta realize what it is before going into it. I still like the original Troll Hunter movie from years back that probably had such a lower budget yet it was interesting and not so comedic.

Guess there is another movie with the same name and both are foreign. One with scientist finding something changing in a large body of water. This one is a submarine going down and another group going in to rescue the crew. This is slightly better than the old syfy channel movies. The creature just looks silly but the other parts are ok.

Kate Beckinsale. Still hotness. Other than that just your run of the mill action movie. Someone takes her daughter and she gets her old crew together to go get her. Have seen worse but Kate makes most things better lol

This is not a bad movie. However it is one of those that seems if it just had a few change here and there and better budget it could have been much better. It is not as good as Hell or High water but is kind of like the Christian Bale movie Out of the furnace.

I like these Knives out movies.
This one is closer to the first one. Even the main character played by Daniel Craig

I actually like the more comedic nature of the second movie Glass Onion and liked his character a little more.

Still if you like old fashioned murder mystery movies and you liked the other two ones, you should like this one.

Wow, BP, I did not know how much you like watching movies. Pretty cool!

Few years back I had a life changing injury. I spent about 6 months Between hospital and rehab/nursing home. Forced me to retire and I do not get out much.

So I am an old Gimp sitting in his recliner with one thumb up my backside and the other on the remote.

That and I have such a screwed up sleep pattern, lot of night owl activity.

Hope you feel better brother. Enjoy those movies! Thank you for your input in here.

Not many good westerns being made anymore. I kind of think this could be a good genre to revitalize. I remember as a Kid there were so many western movies and shows on a limited number of channels that they wore me out. Now i can appreciate them a little more.

This movie has some nice cinematography. Some of that opening scenes are beautiful. This movie was ok, since there are so few westerns it is better than nothing if you like Westerns. It seemed like the direction or script have been better. Actors or direction seemed a little robotic and off. The story itself is good, just thought they could have done it better.

Not bad. But could have been a little better imo. Kind of movie that follows some different story lines that tend to intertwine together. I think this was Graham Greene's last role. Ben Foster does a good job. I think he is an underrated actor but he does have that odd look about him.

Kind of reminds me of the Sicario movie the way it was done, just not as good as those two.

Older one I have not seen in some times. Still a pretty good watch. Great acting jobs in this one and the story is well done. I read that Del Toro said these are not the same character that was Abe in the Hellboy movies. The face and a few things were different but it was still basically Abe without talking. Same actor even played both.

Fargo: 10/10

My biggest complain about most modern movies is that there is too much fluff. Not a wasted scene in this movie, IMO. Great mix of humor, thrills, and dialogue. They flip the common trope by having the protagonist being a pregnant woman. She comes off as dopey, but is extremely intelligent and great at her job. Awesome performances by everyone in the movie, except maybe William H. Macy's kid.

Meh. Sitting through a long slow boring movie just to get to the payoff of the last ten minutes. Although the pay off is good, not sure it was good enough to sit through all of that.

Kind of a let down to me. Some do not like Mel because of other reasons but generally I like his movies. This one was not terrible. It just seemed to be flat and unoriginal imo. It is ok for people to watch but It is not one I would buy later.

Just was not feeling it, maybe I was tired, but I quit watching it.
It is a Russian made movie. And really it was not a cheap B level movie. You can tell they put money into it. But you really did not feel like you were invested in the characters.

I watched Weapons and Sinners last week.

Weapons - thought this was a tight little film. Kept my attention and I liked the narrative style (switching character POV). I think it was an allegory for schools shootings. I enjoyed it.

Sinners - I cannot believe this movie is getting the hype it is getting. Seems like Dusk till Dawn, but set in the Jim Crow era. However, it was not as well done as DTD & the media is making this out like some kind of masterpiece. Cinematography and the acting was good, but the story lacked any deepness and was very surface level for me.

Never heard of either. At first I thought that was the title of one movie: Weapons and Sinners.

I saw it the other day. Decent flick but not as good as I thought it would be. Horror movies are easy to make into compelling stories. I wouldn't really rank it higher than other horror movies that were decent 2 hour watches. Note to new directors, if you have interesting characters, break it down into chapters. The critics love it.

One thing I really enjoyed was what I assume is a 180 on the main horror villain. We keep seeing all these clues about parasites, but I'm guessing he did that to mislead us and it's really just a classic witch tale? Exactly what the lady had painted on her car to begin with. Including the targets who are kids. Sort of borrows some classic European or Grimm Brothers storytelling? I also give him credit for inventing a new iconic villain like the IT demon. She'll be in Halloween Horror nights next year.
I think the witch was the parasite as she fed of the life force of the children.

Loved Weapons.

The Long Walk (along with The Stand) is my absolute favorite Stephen King book. It's a completely compelling, page-turner masterpiece. I haven't seen the movie yet because I worry that it can't possibly match how good the book is.

For those who aren't familiar with the book, maybe it will be too dismal, probably. I highly recommend reading the book, although once you've seen the movie first, I'm not sure how that will play.
*Richard Bachman :)

I started the movie, but haven't finished it yet. I'm a big King fan, so I'll let you know how it is.

Neither is scary if you're ever inclined.
Lol. I'm not worried about being scared. I just find most horror movies to be bad. A lot of them depend on loud noises and jump scares.

I like The Exorcist (classic)
It was great until the ending.
Us was pretty good. Original story.
Get Out, while not great, had a really good story.

There are others I liked, I just think of them off the top of my head...Unless you count Alien as a horror movie. That would be my first choice.
