Instead of going after peterson or spending a first round pick on a rb, why isn't Ray Rice a good football option? he's only 28, he can run btw the tackles, pass block and catch out of the backfield and can probably be had for less years (like 1 year), less guaranteed (like veteran's minimum) and less risk than a drafted rookie running back.

So the only thing I can see people having apprehension with is the domestic violence issue. But as far as a team that had enough faith to keep josh brent and sign greg hardy, it seems like a moot point to me. Unless it's too much baggage to handle? thoughts?

His last season he ran for only 660 yards and had a 3.1 YPC average.

Give me a rookie instead.

Might as well with Hardy on board. I think Rice still has game in him. Question is whether or not his absence has refueled his training, etc. because , as the poster above mentioned, he was pedestrian in his most recent period in the NFL. He is the kind of dynamic, experienced player that could bring home a ring for this team if they made a serious 1 season push with him (this season).

I think he's a subcompact car with little tread left on the tires. He won't/can't play special teams and he is a liability in pass blocking. We may have the same guy on the team already with a lot less tread on the tires who has the same difficulties with two out of three things we would want with most likely a backup running back. I don't have much doubt this years leading rusher is coming out of the college ranks.

What is it with peo
This is true but we have people excited about a 3.3 yards per carry failure in Oakland. Surely we can spin something for Rice too.

I was not high on the McFadden signing but I can deal with it as a backup and/or complimentary back. Our starter should come from the college ranks.

Peo who need peo are the luckiest peo in the world.

3.3 per carry isn't a backup. That's NFL Europe type stuff.

I was ok with Brent as he went to jail, Hardy because the details are a little murky on the he said/she said, AP well, eh, I guess I don't like children, but are we really at the "what could Ray Rice hurt?" stage? I mean, I don't see it happening as the video was so high profile sponsors will jump of immediately, but come on is the RKG play book lining the budgie cage?

Oh, I agree. I still dislike the McFadden signing. Hoping the much improved o-line will help raise that average a bit but I am not hoping for much. Hoping the rookie can shine.

If Rice has something left in the tank I'd love him hear in a heartbeat, however, he does not
