On 98 Rock from Baltimore this morning a Caller who knows a close friend of Ray's was told it's a done deal 3 years, 30 Million .

That would be tampering since Lewis isn't a FA yet unless the Ravens gave him permission to talk to other teams.

If ray lewis gets 10 million a year for 3 years here, then no one should ever defend jerry again, it would be the indicator that he is completely lost.

if Jerry does that, I will be sick

unless it's an incentive-based deal like TO's original contract

Jerra signs that expensive, would-be felon then it's signed, sealed and delivered: Jerra has gone senile.

You need to get over that.

In defense of Hostile, if you look at the numbers, James at least equalled Lewis:

Tackles- James, 116 (80 solo) Lewis 117 (85solo)
Sacks- James-8, Lewis 3.5
Forced Fumbles- James-1, Lewis, 2
Ints- each had 3

I would like to have seen the TFL totals. And I agree that while James WANTS to lead, Lewis IS a leader. That is an intangible and can't be measured thru stats. One point to make is that James, 28, is more likely to match his totals than Lewis, 34.

I will root for the Cowboys either way.
wrong. we only had 8 picks last season as a team(ED Reed had 9 by himself) and the only LB for us to pick off a pass was ironically Greg Ellis. Bradie James has 1 career interception. Ray Lewis has had 1 or more interceptions in every season but 1 since he came into the league.

The sheer number of threads about this guy reminds me when TO was considering coming here.

I want him..

I don't want him..

He'll cost too much..

We have other people to sign without worrying about this overage player..

I don't like his past..

He's a leader..

He's too old..

What happens to player x...

We can't afford him...

He wants to come here...

He's just saying he wants to come here..

Michael and Dieon want him to come here..

Jerry is senile and he's probably coming here..

Blah, blah, blah. The writing is on the wall, people, the deal is as good as done.

Welcome to Big D, Ray Lewis.

He was senile the day he allowed Jimmy to go out and waste the next year's #1 draft pick right after Aikman to sign Steve Walsh. 2 decades late, dollar short. Now it's just cliche to say things about Jerry.

He's going to do things his way, just like every other owner and/or gm out there. His team, his prerogative. And with his championships, super bowl titles and monetary success he's had with this team, vs that of just about every other team out there, minus a few exceptions, in that same time period, nobody can really say anything. Let the other 31 teams pass us by in accomplishments of the last 2 decades, and then we have something to talk about. But not until. Anything constantly against with obvious agenda written all over it, is just a whiny, spoiled fan.

8 sacks from ILB is a monster year. 3 forced fumbles, 116 tackles, 4 passes defensed.

He hardly was invisible.

Preach... He should've been in the Pro Bowl

fearing the unkown is part of the problem with this organization. Signing players in their mid 30s to big contracts is plain dumb.
But we should have kept Jason Ferguson at his price...

yes we should have. the 2.8 he would have counted would not have been a big deal, but his ability to play the run would have been great.

bad example. Care to try again?

I will root for the Cowboys either way.
Because of Wade's 4-6, James had good numbers. Bradie James would be nothing without the scheming of Wade, as is evident his whole career without him. He got burnt in coverage against the end of the year against Philly. You can't hide him all the time. Ray is a leader and vocal, and incredibly smart. And Wade would get more out of him then he does with Bradie.

I thought you said we shouldn't pay a lot of players in their mid-30s. Jason Ferguson was in his mid-thirties and 2.8 million is a lot for a guy that wouldn't start at NT. Nah, I don't think I have to try again, knowing my first point still stands.

I surely didn't miss 2006 when Bradie James got lit up Kitna, and Kitna said they targetted his butt. I didn't miss 2007 when Bradie James kept talking smack about how he would get Kitna, but didn't do jack squat again, with that pathetic Lions offense that couldn't protect anybody. 2006 was a schooling in how to beat up on the Cowboys by taking advantage of the middle of the field, where James was responible.Bradie James has never been very good without Wade. His best was average.
