I'll post a couple after I put on the new lights I ordered. I'll post a video after I fly again. Just got a video camera the other day. Didn't have it when I flew on Saturday.
Regarding your new Red Bull plane. That's a nice plane. I've never flown a plane. I bet they're a little easier than a helicopter but the landing I bet is more difficult. Might be something I try someday. No place to fly planes near me unless I use a parking lot for the runway.
So, I started with flying fixed wing planes and the easiest of them were top wing aircraft’s. My issue mostly because of my learning disability is it took me awhile to get my brain, eyes and thumbs to see the same thing. I started flying Feb 2023. I stunk at it, I crashed more planes than I care to mention. So I went and switch to the Spectrum gear and used their safe/as3x system for the next 8 months. It really helped, as I was able to take my plane out of assist and try and fly without, but I felt like I just wasn’t getting any better. I ended up buying the helicopter and the real flight simulator, and this changed the game for me moving forward. I spent hours on the simulator working on simple movements on just lifting the helicopter slowly, and when I was ready to really fly (post blade wolf debacle) it was night and day better. Fast forward to my Yak build. I’ve been spending hours on the sim flying that plane with no Gyro/assist, and I’m so much more advanced now which is what I wanted before I fly my big gasser. So, I do believe making the transition from helicopter to plane will be easier.
Landings? Depending on the plane some land fast and under power, and some can just float the landing it. But the fun part is working on approaches and turning those into touch and goes! That will also help build muscle memory on your landings.
