RECAP: Crayton calling out Garrett? *Merge*

Listening to all of the excuses and people defending it at the time was quite humorous. Acting like Jerry wasn't doing the same crap he did prior to Parcells. Riiight. He dove right in head first the moment Bill left the Ranch.

Bill left this roster 10x more talented then before he arrived. Compare the 2002 Cowboys to the 2006 Cowboys. And I know people will talk about how it was our scouting department that drafted all those good players; well the Tuna brought them in. We started drafting above-average when Bill arrived, so say whatever you want. As soon as Bill left, JerryWorld began again. I don't blame Bill for not wanting to be a part of that. I think Bill realized he was going to leave when Jerry forced him to sign T.O.. In the grand scheme of things, did T.O. keep his promise to Jerry? No, he DID let him down so it was a poor signing that Parcells would have never done. Now we're seeing what this team is when Jerry is in charge again.

Players just have to execute....

Red Ball was a genius when we executed...

He is a bum when we dont....

Both losses come down to some few plays.....

Lets give some credit to the Bronco's.....they stuffed the run in the 2nd half......

Should of we just play Billy Ball and run...run...pass? This isnt the 90 cowboys here....

I understand that some plays had us scratching our heads......you would think that when the game isn on the line....u put your best players in position to make a play.....but then again....we had no RW...and no Barber at the end of the game....

I dont know the answers....but I am getting tired of players not being accountable and pointing their fingers elsewhere...

I agree. Many said so at the time too, especially when Jerry hired Garrett before we even had a HC.

He was never a genius. The offense was good before ginger showed up and took credit.

Please.....Big Bill was in the Giants parking lot looking for a job in mangement with the Giants when he was still coaching the Cowboys...

Bill did some good things here.....but he lost his desire to coach.....it wasnt TO or Jerry that made Big Bill leave....

Hamlin, yes. Sensabaugh, NO. Watkins, yes.

Sensabaugh hasn't done much other than commit penalties, get fined and break his thumb. He has no interceptions, no passes defended, no forced fumbles, no fumble recoveries, no tackles for loss, no sacks and no quarterback pressures.

According to "sources," I'm pretty sure Bill did this in 2006, way after the time we signed Owens. It was the "Martin Gramatica Game" in 2006, and I don't blame Parcells for one thing here except the drafting of Barbie. He put this franchise back on the map, and I bet that eats Jerry up inside that he had nothing to do with it.

At least he can tackle (see Hamlin). Has he even been asked to blitz?

I dont know if he had nothing to do with it.....Im pretty sure Jerry overruled Big Bill and took Ware instead of Spears who Bill wanted to take with that pick.

I think Jerry worked well with Bill......but Bill didnt have full control....

Those are the rumors about it, but I've also heard that Bill wanted to take Merriman instead of Ware, and many on this board wouldn't have had a problem with it. Obviously none of us were in the room, but I can almost guarantee that Jerry wasn't the only one that "overruled" Bill. Jerry always has his people that he gets advice from, and probably made the decision based upon them.

That's all we want out of our safeties these days? Tackle a guy after he makes a catch or runs for 10 yards?

And yes, he has blitzed.

Yikes. GAC just played a clip of Tom Brady wondering what the heck we were doing throwing at Champ Bailey twice with the game on the line. He was watching the game because they play Denver next week, and said you want to avoid Champ as much as possible.

:eek::

Expectations have fallen across the board....

it is sad

He didn't have complete control, but he completely change the scouting organization and process, and the types of players they scouted for.

We were one of the worse drafting teams of the past decade before Bill walked in, and while he certainly didn't hit on all of the picks, compare them to the drafts Jerry and Lacewell we're putting together. He also hit on several FA's, including Kosier and Columbo.

Bill's trouble came on the field because he was too controlling - look what Sean Payton can do in NO with a free hand (and a good QB) - and too conservative. But I still would have liked to have seen what we could have done in 2007 with him and the first full year as a starter out of Romo.

Great. I am about to go make dinner. I am afraid to listen to the hardline or gac. I will probably go with the hardline or my fall playlist on the ipod.

In my current state I am not sure I can handle what is probably happening on the local espn station.
