Yep, that's what I said. I'll throw in that would be very difficult for any gm to have the team in the good position that they are in today. Building off of the last 2 season with a good future on the horizon. At least that 's what it looks like.
lol @ 'that would be very difficult for any GM to have the team in the good position that they are in today'. In reality, it is practically impossible for practically any general manager to have a quality team in the position they are in right now SINCE they are not general managers for life.

What Jerry Jones has overseen potentially for this season and next season is not equivalent to practically all of his general manager peers? Why? Because the team now is the result of trial-and-errors Jones afforded to himself for 27 years. Practically all other general managers, etc., have only a few seasons to get it right. Those who do not get the boot.

His wins/losses will still compare with most in the NFC over that time up to the NFC Championship level.
and the NFC Championship level is the only thing that really matters. The rest is window dressing. You would think we'd be able to stumble into one by now. I actually thought last year maybe....but no.

It’s really amazing we still have any fans left who defend our current ownership .
It amazes me that some fans expect us to kiss the ground that Jerry walks on for hiring Jimmy Johnson 30 some years ago. And then expect us to ignore the last 27.

I understand our young fans in this generation wanting to believe in the current situation but surely our older fans from the last couple generations see thru our ownership futilities this era.

I still can't find it in myself to sell my soul as a fan because I know and have experienced top shelf winning with my team...but no, this fan won't allow himself to feel cheated by a whole group of men giving all of their heart and me rooting for them to give their best. Sorry, I love team and the sport too much for that!

Perhaps @Bobhaze will consider editing his thread title to 'Remember some folks do think like Jerry'. YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAW!
Jerry didn't have a single thing given to him...I'm not insulting that dignity for what he did not give to me as a fan. HOOOOOOOOOOOAH!!

There are three trophies with this owner and two with Murchison.

And you actually believe that represents the Jones era is greater than the Murchison era?

I can’t imagine any fan who lived thru both eras making such a statement.

I’ve been to all of them from Frisco to Valley Ranch and the old Playboy building in Dallas.
Sweet! Pretty impressive don't you think? Did you ever go to the old practice facility in North Dallas back in the Landry days?

I’m always taken aback by Cowboy fans who support this ownership.

I often ask opposing fans would you trade owners with us and I have yet to have one who currently would.

I’m left with this segment of Cowboy fans who do support our ownership are generally the type of overly Homerish fan that defends everything under the Star.

And typically blow them off after making an attempt to illustrate the gross oversight. It becomes much like trying to bring critical thinking and sound analysis and evaluation to a cheerleader. They just want to cheer their team on,

Hang in there, and don't cry. Remember the words of Duane Thomas.

Yes , our facilities are state of the art. That doesn’t give our owner a pass for his record this era or how he runs Cowboys Football.

Cowboys moved to Valley Ranch while Landry was there . I don’t recall going to an older practice facility . I have been to most of the training camp sites as well .

I was also a season ticket holder for about 4 decades , part of the initial group who attended road games with the Dallas Cowboys Travel Club this ownership established where met the ownership , players and coaches.

Sweet! I hope they win this year and you enjoy the season. You are a night owl for an old fellow.

He pretty much saved the franchise. Totally turned it around and built the amazing valuable franchise that we have today.
I’m sure Dr Jerry Buss and or Don Carter who had higher bids could have continued the franchise as well.

Despite the current situation of a negative cash flow losing about a million a month due to recent downturn on the field and the current economy , the franchise worth had still grown from when Bright bought it in 1984 from 85 million to 140 million in 1989.
