Time for the commish to show he isnt biased with this junk. Burress has always been rumored to be a thug, he shouldnt see the field again this yr at all whether he can play or not. And if Pierce tried to help him cover it up, he should be gone too.

Agree!

Who cares if the Giants get fined? All I want is for Burress and Pierce to be canned by the commish. I couldnt care less if he fines the franchise.

Living in NY, I am just SO tired of hearing about how great the Giants are.

Not saying they aren't...but I'm just tired of all the hype....they're already planning for the Giants Jets Super Bowl.

What are the local radio stations saying?

The part I find most interesting is that the team is the one that alerted the police to the incident. That speaks volumes to me. I think they have had enough of Burress and see this incident as a way to get rid of him with minimal impact of their salary cap. They have a few key players who will want large contracts and they will not be able to just dump Burress and take a big hit on the cap. Since he signed his big deal, he has been nothing but a pain in the *** and underproductive.

Yes that is interesting but it is not like they could hide it. How is the team to put this on the injury report? Burress is on Injury Report for a gun shot.

I don't really care either.

Just wanted to know why anyone would think the Giants are going to get fined if they took the initiative to do what they should have.

I doubt Roger makes any sort of ruling within the next couple of days. Things gotta shake out a little more.

This is just TOOOOOO much fun.

My guess is that the Giants will keep their focus...but they are not a better team without Burress...and if Pierce goes down with him...well, that would just bring a smile to my face.

They are definitely not a better team w/o Burress, but they handled themselves well w/o him in AZ. I hope they beat the Skins today, that's for sure.

This is a sad turn of events, even if it is happening to the Giants. I think its a bit troubling to be laughing and celebrating such matters.

I very seriously doubt anything happens to Pierce on this...though IMO he deserves some punishment. Burress will be interesting too, while I agree that he "should" be suspended...I just don't think the commish has it in him. I hope I am wrong, I would welcome some consistency from Roger.

What's so sad about it? It's tragi-comic at worst. The only guy who got hurt was the multimillionaire knucklehead who started the problem and he's apparently not in any kind of critical condition. And he has been caught so justice is going to be served. He will be punished and lessons will be learned. This is only sad if you start from assumption that guns and violence at clubs don't exist. Otherwise, this is probably good news -- he's going to be such a laughingstock that this may deter other potential knuckleheads from doing something similar.

Basically, this couldn't have been written any more funny.

People were breaking our stones with Pacman. Still, this is pretty sad situation!

it always is, if it be an athlete or Joe Blow down the street, does not mean they don't deserve what they see fit to dish out to us.

That is really dumb to be in a club during football season and to have a gun in it
so therefore they both need to be charged for being idiots and not focusing on what they have to do

It's not good enough for these guys to have the greatest job in the world, millions of dollars, and the admiration of fans all of the country. Just not good enough. They have to go out into night clubs so that they can walk around and watch everyone kiss their butts and cater to their every need. Then, they have to carry a gun and talk shiit. The job, the money, and the fame just is not enough to fill their huge egos.

Just like Pacman and Tank. We can't say too much, we have a few of our own.

REPORT: BURRESS HAD NO CARRY PERMIT

Posted by Mike Florio on November 29, 2008, 11:56 p.m.
We explained earlier tonight that, if Giants receiver Plaxico Burress didn’t have a valid license to carry a concealed weapon in New York City, he is facing a mandatory jail term of 3.5 years in prison.
Per the New York Post, Burress does not have a valid New York permit. His Florida permit expired in May 2008.
Though the Post characterizes Plaxico’s maximum criminal liability as one year in jail, mayor Michael Bloomberg made it clear in 2007 that illegal possession of a firearm in New York City results in a much stiffer penalty.
“Last year, our Administration succeeded in pushing through a law that gives New York the toughest penalty in the country for carrying an illegal loaded handgun,” Bloomberg said in July 2007. “Now, if you are convicted, you will serve a minimum of 3-1/2 years behind bars — no exceptions.”
If the phrase “no exceptions” includes “pro football players who scored the winning touchdown in a Super Bowl for the New York Giants,” then Burress has a problem much bigger than the hole in his leg.

Pierce is big trouble as well. Buress and Pierce will be suspended ASAP by Goodell.
If Burress isn't suspended for illegally carrying a firearm after Pacman was suspended for an altercation, then I may be facing some felony charges of my own.

Maybe it is just me, but I tend to avoid places where I think I may need a firearm just to protect myself and have a good time.

Plaxico Burress is expected to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon after shooting himself in the thigh Friday night. The felony chage results in a mandatory 3.5 year prison sentence.

"He went for his gun and fumbled it. And now it will cost him," a police source told the NY Daily News. Details continue to emerge, such as Antonio Pierce berating Plaxico for bringing the gun to a club. Pierce also stashed the gun for Burress and didn't call 911 at Plaxico's request, so he could face charges as well. Cops only learned about the incident after the Giants quietly reached out to them to report it.

I don't think we will be facing Buress in two weeks. With his gun shot wound and hammy plus a felony charge, LOL!

This just keeps getting better. The Giants no longer have Umenyiora, Shockey, Wilson, Strahan, Mitchell, and now Burress. Maybe Pierce will even be penalized for his part in this incident. Jacobs is banged up as well. We may have lost Felix, Kyle and Roy, but we've added the better Roy Williams and our CB situation is much better than it was last year. Not to mention we've even upgraded our 2nd TE. This Cowboys team needs to just keep playing with fire and focus and the sky is the limit.

Plaxico is just dumb. No other way around it.The Giants have given him chance after chance after chance and he still does not get it. He's just stupid. If I was a Giant fan, I would love if Coughlin just cut ties with the stupidity that is Plaxico Burress. Now the Giant fans know how this feels. They were clowning Cowboy fans over the Pacman issue back in October. Now they are going through the same thing so close to the end of the season. Karma, Giant fans.
