Report: Commanders will release Robert Griffin III

Most finished product? Again QB who have failed because teams are not letting go of quality QB. So which finished or close to finish QB are you talking about?

I'd say a guy who has been around and learned for a while as the backup candidate. 40-year old Matt Hasselbeck did a better job than anyone we had and he was available. Ryan Fitzpatrick could have been had via trade too, and a guy like Colt McCoy was out there as well.

Given that this staff struggles to "coach 'em up" , the more experience, the better.

Why? Why is it a potential "Jerry" move? Bringing in a proven loser who can't read defenses, can't throw from the pocket, and can't run anymore because of his injury prone legs. Heck, he dislocated his ankle without taking a hit. He's the definition of a china doll. Sometimes I think the media just creates this stuff for conversation. Then factor in Dallas almost never signs former Commander players. Jerry is not a complete idiot.

Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassell were proven losers that could not read defenses, but their price was right and they played football for the Dallas Cowboys. Plus, RGIII and Manziel are still both really young. It is a long off-season and it may well not happen, but I would not be surprised in the slightest if one of those two guys is not a Dallas Cowboy.

And? Parcells and Payton laid the foundation with him since he was signed in 2003.

Right. I think David Lee was the QB coach then and I thought he was very good. I wish he would have stayed here much longer.

Peyton was out of Dallas before Romo took over and Parcells was not there that long either. I agree both men played a part not saying they didn't but Wilson has been with Romo the longest. as a 4th string PS player most of the work being done prior to Romo getting a chance was with QB was guys like Quincy Carter, Henson, Hutchinson and Vinny but they don't get blame for not being able to produce anything out of them but Romo is their guy? I know many who do not think much of Wilson but the plain fact is he has been with Romo since 2007 the longest of any of the coaches

No more reclamation projects at the QB position.
No more attempting to try to out-smart the rest of league.
No more clinging on to the present false optimism of the complete recovery, and return to glory of the current QB.

Few examples:
1. New York Giants were a Super Bowl team in 2000, made the playoffs again in 2002, then decided in 2004, drafted Eli Manning in the 1st round.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers played in AFC championship game in 2002, won a playoff game in 2003, then also in 2004, drafted Ben Roethlisberger in the 1st round.
3. Green Bay Packers were a consistent playoff team through the 2002-2004 season, then had the foresight to draft Aaron Rogers in the 1st round in 2005.

Point being, even playoff teams and competent front offices draft QB's in the 1st round, if the value is there.
Don't get cute & don't talk yourself out of drafting a QB
The time is now to draft the QB for the present and build for the future.

The fact that Wilson has not had success developing any other QB's since the emergence of Romo speaks volumes. Romo developed
in spite of Wilson IMHO.

Most of the QB have been vets who come with certain weakness and age. How many rookie QB has he worked with?

Cause he's terrible on the field and in the locker room and a coach killer. The shanahans were right about him.

Bingo! Not that I want Manziel here either, but at least he just screws himself over with his immaturity and doesn't disrupt the order of the team/locker room/coaching/overbearing father/ear of the owner, etc..

God, this sucks. This is going to be a loooooonnggg offseason with the media projecting Dallas as the next landing strip for RGIII/Manziel. Click bait mania starts now.

Well Vaughn and the rookie we kept before that didn't make it. I'm just not impressed.

So an undrafted QB in Vaughn who played and a 4th rd pick in McGee and that shows Wade is not capable? wow, I would think a lot of coaches would have a hard time so called developing QB like that.

And you know this.

And Jerry Jones couldn't be more pleased.

The best part of them releasing RGIII is the realization that they in essence used three 1st rd. pick, one 2nd rd. pick and 4th rd. pick(six potential starters) to get the current QB (Cousins).....which they could have been in the exact same position using only a 4th rd. pick. That's a lot to give up for a slightly above average QB.
